I hired a contractor that we had used in the past to gut a bathroom in a rental place. The job needed to be done at a specific time when the tenants were gone. The contractor had some unfortunate health challenges that made it impossible for him to do the work as scheduled. He brought in Alec to do the work. We were very happy with Alec's work and the final result. Alec is knowledgeable, friendly, hard-working, safe, and meticulous. I would use him again without hesitation.

I needed to install a couple fire rated doors in a rental property. It was an insurance requirement with a tight deadline. Charlie returned my call almost immediately, was at the house to provide a quote in a day or two and scheduled the work quickly to meet the deadline imposed by my insurance company. He did exactly what he said he would do and he did it excactly when he said he would do it. Actually, he did a little more work than originally expected (had to install door closers as well) and he did the whole thing for slightly less than he originally quoted. Exceptional service. Will use him again for sure.

Vitaly is great. I hired him to clean up a recently purchased rental property with some new siding, fascia and soffits. This was actually the second project he did for me, but I didn't even realize it until he told me. I had another company do some siding work done on my primary property years earlier. As it turns our, Vitaly used to work for that company and actually did the work on my place. I was equally happy with that other company and got them to quote on this new project, but Vitaly's quote was a far bit lower this time around. He works at a steady pace but does not rush anything. You can see that it is important to him to get the job done right and I really appreciate that. I picked vinyl siding because I want something that is going to last a long time and require little maintenance, but that is only true if it is installed properly. I would recommend Vitaly to my family and friends without hesitation.

We have found our "boiler guy". We called Kris after seeing the great reviews here on Homestars and after receiving an alarming estimate from a large plumbing company. We needed to fix a leaky rad in a recently purchased rental property. We also thought it would be wise to have someone look at the boiler as the property had been neglected for many year. Kris replaced the rusty supply pipe, replaced a back-flow preventer that was starting to corrode and replaced a questionable pressure relief valve. He did a good job fitting us into his busy schedule and he showed up exactly when he said he would. He was working in a pretty tight space, but he did his work efficiently and he left the place in good shaple. I am keeping Kris' contact info handy. He is definitely our go-to-guy for future boiler issues.

I found KNT (Bill Tang) on Homestars. He was the only electrician I called to replace some knob and tube and do some other updates in a newly purchased rental property. Bill did exactly what he said he would (actually he did a little more), exactly when he said he would do it, and at the exact price quoted. Bill provided excellent documentation as needed by my insurance company before and after the project. His crew was professional and very accomodating of the tenants' concerns. In fact, they came back late on a Friday night to solve a largely unrelated problem with a dryer. KNT is now my go to electrician.

I found McDonald Forestry here on Homestars. I contacted them and two other companies to ask for quotes. One of those companies never even showed up to do the quote. Of the two that did quote, McDonald was the most comprehensive and their price was slightly better than the other guys. None of the trees that needed attention were actually on my property. I was not looking to upset any neighbours so I was open and frank with my neighbours about my concerns and plans. It was important to me that the company doing the work was equally respectful of my neigbours. Steve was definitely the right choice. When they showed up to do the work Steve took the time to explain things to me and my neighbours. He went the extra mile to protect some other plants in the vicinity of the stump to be removed and and he even did a little extra work for one of my neighbours at no addiitonal charge. At the end of the day, everyone was happy with the work that was done. I will definitely use McDonald Forestry again and I would recommend them without hesitation to my friends and neighbours.

His business name may be "Hobson Landscapes", but catch him in the off season and Ted does great interior work too. After a successful landscaping project, we called on Ted to repair a couple original plaster walls in our old home. For a common wall in the home office, Ted removed all the old lathe and plaster, added sound proof insulation, applied two layers of drywall, and finished it off with an antique brick veneer. We now have what appears to be an original exposed brick wall with minimal sound transfer. As usual, Ted worked steadily but did not rush anything and his price was reasonable. We will use Ted again for interior and exterior work.

I hired Asbescan to remove some asbestos from the pipes running from my old boiler. It was a small job to be completed in one day. Their price fit my budget and they were referred to me by a co-worker so I did not obtain any other estimates. Communication was excellent before the work was done. They accomodated my schedule. The foreman explained the whole process to me before they started. The crew showed up on time and worked diligently. The work was done in a day and they left the place as clean as they found it (but for some minor drywall damage caused by removal of the negative pressure enclosure). After the work was done it took some effort on my part to obtain a receipt (which I needed for tax purposes, among other reasons) and a certificate of removal. I had to place multiple calls and send multiple messages to multiple people to get a response. In fact, it took 8 weeks to get the final paperwork (though I paid on the day the work was done). Closing the loop was a frustrating process, but it is really more of a function of their administrative support than their removal team. Overall, their work was good, they just need to pay a little more attention to their after sales service.

Ted and his team did a complete re-work of the front of our small semi-detached home. They replaced the sunken walkway, replaced the raised garden walls, replaced the uneven ashpalt driveway and re-built the original wooden porch. From the first meeting Ted was very professional and more willing to listen than the two other landscapers who quoted on the project. His price was very competitive. There were a number of surprises during the project but nothing really phased Ted. In each case, Ted took the time to analyze the problem, explain it carefully to me and work with me to come up with the best solution in the circumstances. His team worked diligently, but did not rush through the job. Don't let his good natured attitude and soft spoken approach fool you, Ted takes his job very seriously and it shows in the final product. I will use Ted's services again if we require more landscape work in the future and I would recommend him without hesitation.

I would give Serge 11/10 stars if possible. I live in an 80 year old house which we are slowly renovating. Over the years we have used a number of contractors for various projects (i.e. kitchen, deck, flooring, etc.) and have been quite pleased with everyone. Serge Kanev is, however, in an entirely different league. He is professional, knowledgeable, honest and willing to go the extra mile to get the job done right. Serge did a relatively small siding project for us. We were quite picky with materials. Serge spent hours searching for and sourcing the right product. Because it was a product he had not worked with previously, it took Serge longer than usual to install. Despite the extra installation effort, he always had a great attitude and took whatever additional time was required to make sure the job was done right. The price was fair. The communication was excellent. Serge showed up when he said he would. He kept the sight clean. He treated the job as if it was his own house. I would recommend All County without hesitation.
