Man from company came to my house said he could fix the machine for around $285+tax. Told him to proceed. He worked for a few minutes then said I needed to order a part and left. Still charged me the full repair cost. Paid him $90 for the "diagnosis" but I refused to pay the rest since he had done almost nothing. They sent a collection agency after me. Had to pay the full $300 even though they did almost NOTHING - my washer is still broken. Read other Homestar reviews carefully! Check Better Business Bureau website as well. DO NOT use this company.

We would like to apologize for your unpleasant experience, and would like to explain that our technicians ALWAYS give a quote before beginning the repair. if a quote is approved the continue with their work.
in your case, a quote was given to you, and it was mentioned to you that parts would be at an extra charge.
since you have not approved the parts that were required for your appliance, but have approved the labour quote, the technician did work on your appliance and you were supposed to pay for his work.
unfortunately, once a file is unpaid, it is transferred to a collection agency.
