This company is terrible to deal with, more interested in threats than actual customer service or customer retention. They charged me for an entire year after I moved out of province and are still trying to charge me now after the contract expired. Brutal management!!! This is exactly what a company does with a bad review or your inquirery on the phone. I'm unhappy with United Alarms, I made every effort to make them a deal, offered the equipment back, offered to cover my end of the arrangement. I fulfilled my contract. Nobody ever made a comment that I didn't. Then a representative that clearly hasn't been trained in customer satisfaction or retention jumps on here and cites approval rates and blames the customer. Just what I said, a company that you don't want to do business with.

We are so sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with United Alarm. We do our best to meet and exceed every client's expectations, so it is disconcerting to hear that you are unhappy with your experience. We have been in business for over 23 years and have a 99.9% approval rating among our multitudes of customers. Unfortunately, when you sign for a contract and receive the goods and services, you are responsible for fulfilling the agreement to the end, or have the option of buying out the contract. This is no different to a cell phone agreement, even if you don’t want to use the unit, you would still be liable for payments as stated on your agreement. If you no longer want the services from your cell phone provider, you need to cancel the account or it will continue to be billed until notification is sent to the company responsible. Your contract is no different; you had a year left on your agreement and didn’t wish to buy it out. It is unfortunate that your experience was less than positive, our staff would have taken the time to explain your options out of the contract.
