Excellent job of re-building my very old deck and a side balcony. After several unsuccessful contacts/quotes from other contractors I was referred to Deck Masters owned by Alec. I was undecided as to what material to use. Alec explained the pros and cons of 3 different materials (Cedar, Azek and IPE) and then quoted for each of them using the existing deck design with some minor modifications. I opted for the Azek which turned out beautifully and combined it with black aluminium railings as the house has other black cast iron accents. The membrane of the existing deck had been pierced causing water and ice accumulation in the closed storage area underneath. This was expertly corrected with the re-build. The new stairway is less steep than the old so feels more secure. An open roll-in space was created under the deck for the 3 bins – raccoons can’t open the lids! As an add-on to the contract, Alec agreed to stain the new cedar privacy screen which turned out to be a pain. Staining samples were totally different from the product on the cedar. Alex alerted me and then found the best product with a great look. Alex and his crew arrived every day and put in a full day. The job site was left clean every night and it took just over 1 week to complete. Highly recommend. This job was done in September 2019 in midtown Toronto.
