I contacted service4appliances to come look at my Dryer and Washing machines. We were in the process of switching the front load units from floor standing to stacked as we needed to save some space in the room. The Dryer wasn't working for 2 separate reasons one was that for the past week or so it was running continuously and wouldn't automatically shut off regardless of what setting it was on, which was an annoyance but not something that I called immediately to have repaired, after a few days the drum stopped turning all together although the dryer would still turn on and heat up. I called service4appliances and explained the 2 issues with the dryer and additionally asked if they would confirm my washer was properly balanced as it seemed loud when running and I didn't want to have a more costly repair down the road after the units were stacked. The customer service girl indicated that it sounded like a problem with the "timer switch or sensor" on the dryer which seemed to make some sense. The 2 technicians came and I explained both problems with the Dryer and that I just wanted the washer balanced, they looked at my 2 appliances and within 15 minutes he told me he could fix the dryer without needing parts (usually the board just needs to be reset and make sure the connections are clean and tight). He said it would cost me $280 dollars, I thought this was the cost for both appliances and was pleased and told him to go ahead. As it turns out that was the cost for them to take the dryer apart and clean it up inside only, because when they plugged it back together the drum started to turn. I again asked if both issues were now fixed and the technicians indicated that usually fixing the one problem fixes both as usually there is only one problem with an appliance at a time. Then they balanced the washer which involved greasing the springs and adjusting the feet which they then told me I owed an additional $250 for. I was more than a little shocked but felt it was at least partially my fault for misunderstanding the quote was just for the one unit. I paid the fee that I thought was high, at least to have our laundry working again given that we have 2 adults and 2 toddlers that requires us to run the units daily. After the technicians left it was late so the laundry got run the next day and we found that they only fixed the one problem with the Dryer and NOT the fact that it won't shut off on its own. So now I'm just waiting for their "temporary fix" to stop working again. I called today and spoke with their customer service which was a joke all they wanted to say is I never told them about the second problem which is completely not true as I have written notes from when I originally called them indicating we spoke about it and what the cause may be. All they were willing to do was to send another tech out to diagnose the other problem but I would have to pay another service call. So now I have spent over $600 dollars (with taxes) on a set of laundry units that is 6 years old to have them cleaned up and balanced with no new parts. the technicians were at my house for just over an hour. Wish I made that kind of money. I told their customer service that not only did I not want them to send another tech out to fix my original problem as I wasn't giving them another dime to fix what they already didn't do, but that I would never recommend them to anybody ever. I am also sending an email detailing this encounter to Samsung the manufacturer of my units to ensure they do not recommend this company in the future, and maybe I should also copy the better business bureau. I feel like they just took my money. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY IF YOU KNOW WHATS GOOD FOR YOU!!!
