The drainage hose on our Bosch dishwasher broke and needed to be replaced. The same thing happened to our previous dishwasher around 5 years ago. On that occasion I had contacted a local repair person who came to the house, looked at the dishwasher, informed me that he could not fix it, and then billed me $100 for honouring me with his visit (sadly, it was not worth $100). This time I used Homestars to find a highly-rated repair service in Ottawa, Doctor Appliance, with a satisfaction rating of 98%. I can now tell you from my personal experience that their high rating is well deserved. The repair person (I wish I could tell you his name, but I have profound hearing loss and masks prevent lip-reading) was very pleasant and professional. He quickly identified and ordered the replacement part. The folks at Appliance Doctor provided excellent communication as well. I received a call 2 or 3 days after the initial visit to let me know that the part had arrived and to schedule the repair for the following day. We had a massive snowstorm on that following day, so they called me in the morning to reschedule the appointment for the following day due to road conditions. I actually really liked that they did this as it tells me that they care about their employees’ safety. The repair person returned the next day, was again very pleasant and professional and did the repair work quickly and cleanly. I forgot to mention that the technician wore a mask and maintained social distancing during both visits. He even had a portable tap credit card reader, which I’ve not seen before, to minimize contact during the pandemic. This is my first Homestars review. I was able to find this business due to the reviews posted by others, so hopefully my contribution will help others to find Doctor Appliance as well. They will definitely be my go-to for all appliance repairs in the future! :)
