***HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!** The reviews I had read on Homestars seemed to good to be true, but after our own experience with Affordable Insulation, we are more than happy to add our own feedback. Having wildlife living on one's property is never a good feeling, but thankfully, we had the benefit of qualified professionals who took our need for proper insulation to heart, and worked on our home as though it were theirs. Jason arrived early for our consultation and educated us on the very detailed approach they would be taking in blocking unnecessary air-holes, installing / replacing baffles, and replacing the insulation to current code - with a 10-year guarantee against settling! We were kept up to date during the whole exercise. On the day of the project, we were given timely updates and opportunities to review the work-in-progress. Jason, Syd, and Chris are truly respectful, polite, honest professionals. We thank you for the absolutely wonderful and amazing job you did in resolving our insulation issue. Although we have had unseasonably hot and cold weather since then, we have had no need to turn our heat or AC on - not once! For the first time in all the years since we've lived here, we are seeing the upper level temperatures as warm as, or as cool as the lower levels! It's still early, but as far as we can see, we have no more need for multiple fans in Summer or additional heating sources in the Winter months. That is simply fantastic!! Our closet is no longer the coldest room in the house, thanks to Syd's repairing (rebuilding!!) our trap door insulation, adding enough insulation to last us the next 15 or so years. (Thanks, Syd!) The icing on the cake for me came on the day of the project. To help keep our floors clean, the gentlemen used strategically placed drop cloths, and also carried their shoes in their hands and only put them on to go up and down the ladder to the attic. After all the work was done and I went to clean-up, I had the surprise of my life ... our closet was spotless! All exposed surfaces had been dusted clean and the bedroom carpet had been vacuumed! The price quoted was reflective of the level of care and attention to detail that went into this project. The work was very, very professionally done! On top of all you did, you gave us so much invaluable information. We cannot pay you for the tips and education around preventing heat-loss and animal re-entry. Thank you, thank you, thank you! The little things matter much: like checking in with the neighbours to apologize for unavoidably blocking a part of their driveway, or being patient in explaining the process in non-technical language...Thanks again, Jason, Syd and Chris. We will be more than happy to forward your contact information to anyone we know dealing with insulation issues. We found Affordable Insulation on Homestars after seeking help to replace our wildlife-damaged insulation. After hearing the nature of the damage, Jason at Affordable Insulation provided us with a link to Puroclean Emergency Services to have the insulation removed and the area disinfected.

We contacted SWAT Wildlife after hearing sounds in the attic. Ken came out to see us soon after, despite the fact that this was a cold and snowy day. After a thorough investigation (attic and external points), Ken told us what we were up against and made his recommendations. He secured the entry points and potential entry points to help secure our home.He also gave us tips for communicating with our attached neighbour to have their entry points secured to avoid a re-entry of the unwanted guests. Unfortunately, the neighbour did not immediately comply, so we had to undergo another invasion as Ken had predicted. Despite his confidence in his work and the guarantee of the company, Ken was willing to come back out and check our home to make sure none of the work he had done had been compromised. Ken has displayed very professional behaviour, and his explanation of wildlife and their needs gave us a better understanding of why they chose our home, and what we can do to prevent similar issues in future. Thankfully, our neighbours have now completed their own screening and we are all hopeful that we have seen the last of the uninvited guests. Our one 'disappointment' with the company is that they do not offer cleaning and disinfecting services, as we would have loved to continue the mutually beneficial professional relationship. We are very grateful for Ken's positive, professional and confident attitude as we lived with the unwelcome and sleep-disturbing sounds. It is our hope that we never have to go through this experience again, but in the unfortunate event that we do, our first call will be to SWAT. Thank you, Ken.
