In June 06 we hired Hollywood Floors to level our floor and install hardwood. We paid them a down payment of $3000 and they came in and ripped up our existing subfloor. That's where the work ended. For 2 months we got excuses, they used our house as a storage facility, the used our tools and ruined a saw blade, they damaged our new drywall and our vents, they didn't deliver our hardwood, they left supplies out in the rain, and they gave us the run around. We finally had Josie Rosso write up another contract listing an end date as we were paying rent on an apt while we waited for our floor to be installed. She obliged and set a completion date for Sept 1, 06. By Aug 31 no one had been to the house yet or done any work so we removed the key. Josie called us on Sept 1 and said they were ready to begin work...we told them no thanks. The contract stated completion by that date. They've refused to refund our money and refused to supply us with the hardwood. Josie has even told us that we owe them for the work that was done. they've since left their location on St Clair so if you find them elsewhere DO NOT hire them!!

Avenue Road fixed our roof a few years back and did a great job. No complaints...at the time. Unfortunately the roof started leaking again about 4 months ago and, since it's still under warranty, we called and they came to take a look. The repair guy said the job was done poorly and they would have to fix it. They were to call us back with a date when they would come to do the repair so we waited...and waited. It's now been about 2 months since they said they would call. We've called them 4 times with no response. About a week and 1/2 ago we finally spoke to the person who came to look at the roof and he said he would call before the end of the week to set up a time. He never called. We've tried to get in touch since then but still haven't had any response. The repair man used the excuse that there's been a lot of rain, they've been really busy and we're not a priority. Nice customer service, eh? In the meantime we can't finish the renos on our bathroom because the ceiling is ripped up and can't be replaced until the leaky roof is fixed. Sorry, Avenue Rd, but it IS a priority for us!! We understand that you're busy but at least call us to let us know that the job will eventually be done. ALL customers should be a priority!! Well, a few days after this review went up and the guy finally is back to fix our roof. Fingers crossed that it works this time and we can finish our bathroom. Update...It's now about 4 months since they came to finally fix the roof and guess what....IT'S LEAKING AGAIN!!! Unbelievable! Luckily we hadn't fixed the ceiling yet so we don't have to rip that out again. We're calling them again right now. Stay tuned for further updates. sigh
