We recently had Ryan and his team from One Brush complete a job at our home in preparation for listing it for sale. The work included a bathroom, laundry room, kitchen cabinets, backslash, sun room, and touch ups throughout the house. Starting with the detailed initial walk through and cost estimate though and until the final clean up, we were impressed with everyone's professionalism, workmanship, and commitment to detail. The quality of the work was really first rate. We had great communication by email and in person, we felt that any questions we had were quickly addressed. They accurately estimated the the timeline for the work and stuck to it. We would happily recommend them.

In two-words: honest and professional. We couldn't recommend The Duct Cleaning Specialists more highly. We had Paul and Mariela out this past Saturday to help with a dryer vent problem and to assess whether a full duct cleaning was required. The company doesn't normally work Saturdays but an earlier weekday appointment had to be re-scheduled at the last minute by Paul after Toronto was hit was some severe weather. When I spoke with Paul about re-scheduling he indicated that he was happy to come out on Saturday morning given the inconvenience to me. From this first conversation with Paul I was very impressed. The service itself only further demonstrated just how committed he is to providing a level of customer service any home owner would be grateful to receive. Although both my wife and I thought a full duct cleaning was in order, Paul carefully inspected and photographed the ducts and explained to me that in his opinion it was not urgently required and could wait. This should tell you something. Paul is not someone just trying to make a quick buck off an uninformed or ill-informed customer. He explained to me the situation, and gave me his honest opinion which resulted in me not going ahead with the full cleaning. That's impressive and speaks volumes about the type of business he runs. He did go on to clear out the dryer duct (which was so badly in need we hadn't been using it weeks). He took the time to show me the issues, explain the process along the way, and perform the job with great care and precision. He addressed both the duct and the dryer vent itself, then once the cleaning was completed he tested to ensure that the level of air pressure leaving the vent was of a sufficiently high standard (as he was concerned about the way the duct appeared to be compressed in parts). Paul and Mariela were great and we could not recommend them more highly. We've had a lot of work done on our house over the years. Many contractors have been selected on the basis of good reviews here on HomeStars. Unfortunately, not all of them were deserving of their rating. The Duct Cleaning Specialists not only lived up to expectations but exceeded them. No one likes having to deal with a problem in their home, myself included. But I am comforted by the fact that the next time a duct issue arises I have Paul and Mariela to call on.

We needed to freshen up the front of our house and looked for a company that would be able to deliver a quality service at a reasonable price. After getting quotes from and meeting with three top-rated companies on HomeStars, we chose Karin and her business and were very happy with the results. Karin's quote was the lowest of the three and she was also able to offer the most for the quote (including painting the small porch roof when other companies had not including nor even suggested was an option. As it turns out this turned out to be one of the best changes to the look of the house). Her final price was exactly the quote she had first given us, no hidden fees, no surprise costs. Price of course isn't everything, and this was not the only reason why we chose Karin in the first place and why I am recommending her here. Karin is a very knowledgable and experienced painter, and it shows. She was nevertheless very easy to talk to and she was not at all pushy (like one other company we met with). She was very quick to respond to any and all of my questions through email. It was very easy to get a hold of her. She made sure she knew our expectations and went over the details of the job carefully at the outset and shortly before painting. She tried her best to get the job done as quickly as possible. Unfortunately we were experiencing very extreme weather (heat, humidity, and thunder showers) during the period she was hoping to start, so there were some delays outside of her control. But she kept me posted, and rescheduled me with notice. Her crew was excellent. Jefferson and Joe did a fantastic job. They were easy to talk to, they asked questions when they weren’t sure (instead of just ploughing on ahead), they took direction well, they were very friendly yet professional, and I could tell that they genuinely took pride in their work. The site was cleaned up at the end of Day 1 and after the job was complete. The end result was a fantastic looking house.
