-What a mistake!
Hired them and signed a contract for by-weekly cleaning.
They insisted on an initial, detailed, cleanings of the kitchens and bathrooms for and additional cost.
Four people showed up and stayed for about an hour and a half. The company manager who was one of the crew members working on site, reassured me that he would double check the cleaning before they left and that I would have a very clean house as promised. I was only home for a few minutes while they were in my home so, based on his (the company manager’s) and (The Company Owner) Kim's word, I paid them in full for the “detailed” clean!
When I came home, this is some of what I found:
1. I smelt dirty feet instead of a fresh smelling cleaned house.
2. I noticed the dirty light blue hand mop left in my hallway.
3. My kitchen sink didn’t shine
4. The toaster and it still had crumbs on it and was never wiped down.
5. The faucets and noticed they still had marks on them and hadn’t been wiped down so I took a picture of them.
6. I also took a picture of the stove with marks on it from not being cleaned properly.
7. Bare foot marks were left on my hardwood floors by the dining room door from people walking on wet floors.
8. The bathroom and noticed it didn’t smell fresh either
9. Upon further investigation, I noticed the toilet hadn’t been cleaned properly and proceeded to take a picture to send to Kim.
10. The bathtub didn’t look clean in fact the hand nozzle on the shower and the hose attached to it wasn’t shining an in fact was still gungy.
11. Under the soap ledge and noticed there were hairs still there and much soap scum which could only mean one thing – it too wasn’t cleaned, so I took a picture
12. The glass shower door and took another picture of the dust that wasn’t cleaned.
13. The mat wasn’t vacuumed properly and still had much stuff on it.
14. The bedroom I looked at the bed that I had requested directly to the manager to be done properly, wasn’t done well.
15. The light fixture had much dust on it so I knew this was never touched by the company. – even after my conversation about dust with the manager
16. Then I looked under the bed and it was clean – so that was done properly
17. When I went into the basement I noticed the sink in the basement kitchen was shining so I knew you guys were capable of shining up a sink.
18. The mat in front of the sink had stuff all over it as if it wasn’t vacuumed.
19. I proceeded into the bathroom in the basement and ran my hand under the vanity on the floor and it quickly filled with stuff. The floors were not cleaned properly.
When I sent this list to Kim, along with pictures, I asked for my money back. Her contractual obligations to me were not met. She agreed that they "dropped the ball" and offered to resend a crew to clean what was missed. I estimate the additional cleaning would take at lease another hour but by this point, my confidence was completely shattered since I was already reassured by her during her sales pitch and by her manager on site, that this, higher priced, detailed clean would be just that, a detailed clean.
I was also grossed out of these people being in my home and in my opinion leaving it dirtier than when they started and I wasn’t able to leave work to go and supervise another crew to assure they were qualified and that my house would be done properly as promised initially. .
I corresponded with Kim many time telling her that I am not interested in having another crew in and asking over and over again for my money back, but she refused. – I strongly suggest that anyone needing their house to be cleaned look somewhere else.
