After another company failed to honour their warranty and flat out refused to even come out to inspect our roof to find the source of a leak, I contacted a number of roofing companies in desperation and Jordan from Claw Roofing was the first one to respond. Other companies had quoted me thousands for a fix and after Jordan climbed onto our roof and did a quick inspection he found the problem - the sealant the original company applied to fix a leak at the scupper had deteriorated, allowing water to seep through, and the fix was to apply a new layer of (better) sealant. Because I called during the dead of winter, he first applied a temporary sealant that expanded with water. Once the weather warmed up and all the snow and ice were gone and the roof was allowed to dry, he came back, removed the temporary sealant, and applied the permanent sealant. He also sealed up other spots with similar "seams" on our roof. The original company that refused to honour their warranty told me that I'd have to redesign my entire roof. Jordan came out twice and got things fixed permanently within half an hour and at a fraction of the cost of a complete roof redesign which would've been unnecessary. I am so thankful for Jordan and he will forever have my business.

Platinum Roofing Ltd., operated by Mark, did a roof replacement on our current home in 2016. We were purchasing this house and as a result of a home inspection finding, the sellers agreed to go in 50/50 with us to completely replace the original flat roof from 1994. We were originally happy with the roof replacement and I did not have an issue with the roof until 2021, when after installing pot lights, we started seeing water in our bedroom during a warm stretch in winter and snow/ice melt. Platinum Roofing sent a technician to come out who removed the ice and applied sealant around a scupper which took care of the leak. I'm not sure if the leak was always there since the roof replacement and we only saw it in 2021 after pot lights were installed and the electrician drilled a hole into the drywall for the light fixtures OR if it was just a leak that got worse over time. It happened again in January 2022, and Mark, the owner of this business, originally said he will come out and take a look. As the weeks went by, he had a new reason for not having arranged a time yet: he'd been busy, he'd been out of province. At one point, Mark called me and changed his tune and told me that our roof is poorly designed, and I'm making things worse by not doing anything, and he will not come out - as if he had been telling me all this time. Anytime I talked to Mark, he would condescendingly claim that I don't know what I'm talking about, that our roof is flawed, and that we need a complete redesign of our roof and that we should contact our insurance company because they will cover it (surprise: they don't). He would write walls of text via text message saying he's "trying to help" even though I was literally asking for him to physically come out to the roof and confirm the leak is only related to attic rain and not a small tear in the roof along the scupper like it was in 2021. By April 2022, no one had come out and I was repeatedly told what the problem with our roof was, even though no one had physically stepped onto our roof in 2022. We ended up getting another roofing company to come out to check our roof because by this point, I was sick of being told it was my fault and that it was not his responsibility. When the other roofing company came out and actually spent the time to climb onto the roof, he showed me pictures of the deteriorated sealant applied by Platinum Roofing in 2021 and there were new micro cracks in the torched roof around where the sealant was applied. THAT was the source of the leak. The solution? This company applied a temporary sealant which expanded with water. Once the snow and ice were all gone and the roof was given an opportunity to dry out, he removed the temporary sealant and applied a new layer of sealant. It's 2024 and we haven't had an issue since. This is not a company which will stand by their work. Mark would not honour the warranty which was confirmed to have been transferred to us by a Platinum Roofing employee via email. It should've been a 10 year warranty valid until 2026. If I had listened to Mark and not gotten a second opinion, I would've done a complete redesign of our roof just to fix a small leak that was repaired with properly applied sealant. If you're lucky, you might get them to come out once, but they won't stand by their work and refuse to even send a technician, or blame you for any roof issues you're having. The owner is horrible to deal with, condescending and tries to talk down to you and make you feel like you're a child. He has caused me nothing but headaches. I recommend anyone reading this review to stay away from their company and look elsewhere.
