John, Trinh and Sai FAR exceeded my expectations. I had my porch painted 5 colours, they painted my kitchen 5 different colours and my kitchen table. WOW! Excellent job and LOVELY high integrity team. It’s my second job with them. I am so impressed. Thanks so much guys!!

In Praise of Nanci Vanier, CAS customer service!!!!! I bought my microwave/hood fan from CAS. They were the only ones in the country who had this apartment size version and they delivered promptly. Within a month this expensive item broke down and customers are supposed to deal directly with Whirlpool. NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!! WHIRLPOOL IS HORRIBLE TO DEAL WITH!!! Truly terrible! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE! They keep you on hold, and do NOT RETURN CALLS! After 6 weeks of the worst experience ever, I phoned CAS and begged for their help. It was not their problem, it was whirlpool, but Nanci Vanier in CAS customer service went way above and beyond to help me - out of kindness! Even she had to wait on hold for 30 minutes to reach someone from Whirlpool, and she represents a huge distributor! But she did, she spoke to a supervisor and Whirlpool, (HAVE I MENTIONED HOW TERRIBLE WHIRLPOOL, IS?) are finally sending someone to correct THEIR error. Did I mention that they seem to have no idea what's going on? When they did send someone, the technician WHIRLPOOL sent said HE was given the wrong info BY WHIRLPOOL and couldn't help me. Even he called Whirlpool, waited on line and tried to help me. Yay technician Mike, but still WHIRLPOOL COULD NOT GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER. WHY???? THANK YOU, NANCI VANIER from CAS! You are my hero! but know that as TERRIBLE AS WHIRLPOOL CUSTOMER SERVICE IS ... Nanci Vanier rocked my world. Thanks to Valerie, also in customer service for helping me navigate the site.

I found David through home stars. He arrived early, did a fantastic job, was really nice, and the price was extremely reasonable. I highly recommend David and Allergy relief cleaning services. I was especially happy to see that they used only natural products, no deodorants . I will definitely use David again!

Our fabulous contractor John Anderson of RENOVATE PLUS found these incredible roofers for us. Before we hired them, I talked to other top scorers from HomeStars and their quotes were DOUBLE. Mimi from ALPINE ROOFING gave us a great quote, and RENOVATE PLUS kindly oversaw the job so I had confidence that it was done right. A few weeks later I noticed a small section had been missed (I had not identified that I needed it done). Mimi was amazing - before I knew it someone from ALPINE was here, no questions asked, and they took care of it, no extra charge, just amazing, good-natured customer service. YAY! They have been in biz 40 years, i HIGHLY recommend them and caution all to beware of the roofers who are quoting $14,000-17,000 for a semi roof downtown. They will make you believe you need them .... you need ALPINE (and no, I am no related to anyone there, lol) I am a fan of great work, and having lived in my house for over 20 years, I know the difference now between great work and con artists. Go Alpine, thank you Mimi, thank you fabulous JOHN ANDERSON for finding them (our whole neighbourhood seem to be using them now!) and for overseeing the job! I'm a happy customer.

This was brilliant! And onlY one of the many changes john made in short order. having heard me voice a need for a safer heat source in our tiny bathroom where we'd been using a portable heater (an ongoing tripping hazard) for years . He suggested, purchased and installed a flush mount perfect unit / quiet and well-placed in the room. We love it. So we had him put two more in. He also recommended and implemented a way to cheaply save ourselves a ton of hydro. He works clean and carefully. . Good in collaboration and consultaton. Not defensive - easy to talk to. we're thrilled. Excellent quality person and work!

Just as I was looking to replace the windows in my c1930's house, my mother found an ad in the paper for Clera Windows/FM industries. It was their busy season so one of the managers,came to do the call. Enter Gene Morlando. Gene immediately made us feel as though we were old friends and that he was going to take care of us ... and he did. We had coffee, and Gene showed us samples and helped us decide what was best for us. For instance, there are lots of different window looks - up and down sliders, crank windows, french style, faux-led, etc. We wanted to do something esthetic as well as practical, Gene helped us figure out what types of windows would look best, to help with the overall look. The transformation happened in about a day and it completely changed the look of our house - completely. In my opinion, I think our house looks AMAZING. I hope the picture can do it justice. It had the look of a really expensive reno, but it was just a change of windows, new paint, and we added a storm door to finish the look. Everything works wonderfully, windows open easily, everything feels like quality. I know it sounds like we must be related to someone in the company, but we genuinely could not be happier - and I don't expect that, these days. AT the end we gave Gene a Japanese Maple tree to thank him for going way above and beyond for us in very possible way. Also, a BIG shout-out to Arian, the craftsman who actually did the installation. He was fast and did great, meticulous work. And at the end of the day, the price was also fantastic. We are ecstatic! Sounds over the top, but every time I come home I look at our house and smile. PS It's now a year or more later, and we lost a crank for one of the windows - our fault, Gene cheerfully sent off two more in the mail. We are happy customers.
