I like the North Van branch best for the helpfulness of their staff. They seem to have a bit more time for customers than the Burnaby branch. I'm not a huge fan of the quality of wood though. I find I have to pick through it quite a bit.
Peter is affordable and reliable. I've used a few delivery contractors and he is the best in my experience. He just charges the cost of the soil plus a reasonable delivery fee. He is quite busy, but I find he always shows up when he says he will. I've had him deliver to our home and to my work, and both deliveries went well.
They have great quality stuff, and the staff is very knowledgeable. I found them a bit on the pricey side, but I appreciated that they talked me out of a more expensive option. They seem mostly geared towards contractor sales.
This store is contractor-focused but still very friendly to homeowners. I've found these guys helpful several times. They showed me a fix for a toilet plumbing problem, and matched a thermocouple for me.
They were helpful with advice, and were really easygoing when we had to hold on to them for a few extra days. Check their hours before you go down.; we went down twice to find them closed.
