Working with Steve and his team from Aurora Hickory Dickory Decks has been a great experience. Right from our first meeting it was pretty clear we'd be moving forward with Hickory Dickory Decks to build a 400 sqft deck with a partial roof covering. Most of the other contractors I had met with merely asked what I want, took a couple pictures and said they would send us a quote. Steve spent over 2 hours with us on the first meeting listening to what we wanted and why, going over all the different options and offering suggestions about different approaches. By the end of that meeting we knew more about decks and roofs than we ever thought we would. We also really appreciated Steve's full disclosure pricing where we were able to see the costs of all upgrades and items separately which helped us decide what to include and what to exclude. I'm a numbers guy and I really like being able to crunch the numbers under different circumstances and I hate having to go back and ask for a revised quote based on changes. With Steve's full disclosure pricing I was able to mock up my own quote (within reason) with whatever options I as interested in and then take it back to Steve to get a final tally. Once work began on the project, Steve's team worked fast and the deck/roof was usable in less than a week. The speed at which they worked did not compromise quality either. I am very detail oriented and was constantly checking their work and almost never had any issues. In the infrequent situations where I did, Steve was very open to my concerns and would either walk me through why something was done a certain way or discuss alternative options. In the end, all of my concerns were addressed in a fair and satisfactory way. The same approach also applied to changes in scope. Throughout any project, things tend to change when you see it take shape. Steve did a great job to accommodate our changes, and when possible, those changes did not affect overall cost. In the cases where the changes did impact cost, we had a discussion and agreed on a fair approach forward. This openness and discussion was key to our relationship as when we got to the end of the job and made our final payment, there was no sticker shock as we were well aware of the initial cost and any additional costs due to scope changes. In the end we have an amazing covered deck that looks great and is super functional. It essentially has added to the usable space of our house and we take great pride in knowing it was done properly. I would highly recommend Steve and his team for any deck/covering needs you may have.

Having never had to purchase a iron gate before, we were a bit out of our element. However, Art Metal made the process super easy. It was very easy to communicate back and forth with our questions and to get quotes based on the different gate styles. What sealed it for us however, was when Yevgeniy came to check out our site. He was extremely positive in terms of what needed to be done and how they would handle everything. He walked through all my concerns and by the end, I was confident with the path forward. Installation went off without a hitch and when I inquired about adding an extra latch after the fact, they came back within a few days and added it at no extra cost. We now have our driveway gates in place and they look great.
