I went for quote on an adjoining fence project and obtained four quotes. 3 of the companies came to site to look at the job and one company didn't even bother coming to site. When Grant from Green Side Up Contracting showed up I could tell that this company was a bit different from the rest in that there was no BS, every aspect of what they would do (the process) was explained in detail, the site inspection was thorough and the detailed quotation outlining what I would pay and what my neighbour would pay was clearly laid out (including a section for options should we wish to go with them) and promptly presented. When we decided to go with this company Grant and Robert showed up and again walked us though the process but this time even took into account concerns my neighbour had for existing structures near the fence line. Robert was amazing in the way he got rid of the old fence, redesigned and rebuilt a new one in its place single handily whilst taking into account every detail we had discussed. I was very pleasantly surprised with the way this company actually took pride in the work they did from detailed planning to the masterful workmanship to the customer care. They asked for a 10% deposit upfront and the remainder was payable upon the completion of the project to our complete satisfaction. This company is a true find and I have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone.

Update 29-06-2019 Please check out the Better Business Bureau case CASE#: 1393369 - Markstone didn't have the decency to even respond. Also check out the new pictures attached including the water pooling issue. Original post in May 2019 The picture shows what Markstone considers to be a completed project. The person applying the Jewel Stoning (the dark gray material meant for the vertical portion of the steps) over-applied the material and ended up with an unsightly line of this material plastered onto the horizontal portion of the step including the landing portion. Then to make matters worse they let the same person try to fix this problem (and I Kid you not) by taking a hammer and chisel and hacking away at the horizontal part of the steps and landing with the (you guessed it) expected result. At this point Markstone then wanted to solve this problem by applying the Jewel Stoning to the entire horizon portion of the step. I disagreed with this solution and asked for a partial refund last December so I could go get a competent company to help me and haven’t heard from them since….. My biggest mistake after hiring this company was to pay them the final payment after Daniel gave me his word he would fix the problems … then buddy took his hammer and chisel out – I have learned. This is in addition to excessive pooling of water when it rains and the fact that in some areas the slope is actually towards the house (3rd party verified) Now, when people ask me, “What happened to your walkway?” I tell them I got Markstoned.
