Finding time during the week was difficult and Deroy was kind enough to meet on a Saturday There were odors coming from the drains, showers and sinks and we were concerned there was a serious issue. Deroy explained that the traps of some of the unused facilities might have run dry causing the smell. He explained how to resolve the situation and keep the drains fresh. He also did a check with the auger in one of.the toilets. Deroy is a gentleman and he is on my list of contractors I van trust.

This is the second time that Denis has helped me out with my rental semi-detached. After reviewing all the positive reviews below I must say I agree with all of them. Works hard, reasonably priced and the final product is always very good. This time Denis and his crew put vinyl flooring down on two levels of the house. He also repaired a water damaged wall and with help from one of his many contacts found (and they fixed) the origin of the issue. Total cost of $12,300 (labour and materials) plus tax for a total of $13,900. I will be using D.M.I.'s services again very soon to update an unfinished basement.

We had some water coming in to our basement when it rained heavily. There was also a water discharge coming out of the wall near the furnace 30 feet away that we couldn't explain. Alex and Eugene came over and because I didn't want any damage to the wall inside the basement they had to get creative. They installed a sump pump in one corner with weeping tile to fix the rain issue. Near the furnace they also set up some weeping tile and dug a path under the concrete to link it directly to a drain 10 feet away. They had earlier explained that this discharge was due to water coming up from the ground. I signed my contract on December 7th and they were there on December 10th. It was all finished in one day. They re-poured the concrete in the basement and were also kind enough to buy an extension cord for the sump pump that wasn't included in the original price. They also showed me how to sign up with the City of Toronto to take advantage of the sump pump subsidy (80 percent of the cost up to $1,750). Rainbow Solutions was one of three quotes I got. They were in the middle ground, but I was impressed with their knowledge. What sealed the deal was the 30 year warranty. I hope to never have to meet with them in a professional manner again, but if I do I know the warranty will cover whatever I need. Cost summary: $2,500 plus HST for the sump pump $1,700 plus HST for the weeping tile and concrete replacement near the sump pump $2,700 plus HST for the weeping tile and concrete replacement near the furnace After tax it was $7,797

My furnace began to do stops and starts. It would go on for bursts of 10 seconds and then stayed off for a few minutes. Not the way to heat a house. When the larger heating and air conditioning company that I normally (happily) deal with could only offer a four-hour window that I couldn't break free for I decided to look on-line at Home Stars for somebody with a recent positive review. City's Choice Comfort Air was the winner. I called and Andre worked with me to get me a one-hour window that would fit my schedule. Although he was a little late for the original window he communicated with me all the way until he got to my door. Anyway a diagnostic was performed ($80 charged by Andre while the larger company quoted me $100) and unfortunately the furnace needed a new venter motor. Since my furnace was 11-years-old Andre gave me options of a new furnace (around $3,200) or $600 for the new motor. He explained the immediate gas savings of a new furnace (10-to-15 percent), but also said that there was nothing wrong with my furnace other than the motor. He didn't push the higher end product which I appreciated. The facts were there and he let me decide. I believe Andre is a stand up guy who you can trust to give you a fair opinion and is also very reasonable price-wise. I will be referring him to my friends, neighbours, family and workmates.
