Unprofessional and ineffective
A technician from Appliance Repair Expert was hired to do a diagnosis on a dishwasher that stopped working. The technician identified the issue to be caused by a faulty circulation pump. I was charged the diagnosis fee of $100, which would be credited back if they were hired for the repair. He stated that it would need to be ordered and would take 3-4 days. It took over 7 phone calls, numerous texts and over 3 weeks to get them to finally order the part and complete the repair. Following the repair, there was minimal verification, but I was told that it was all done and I was charged the balance of about $500. The issue however was not fixed, nothing improved. For the next 3-4 weeks, I attempted to contact a manager or my technician to come and take a look under their warranty. When the technician finally came, he stated that the circulation pump probably wasn't the issue. He said he didn't know what the issue was and eventually left. For the next 2-3 weeks I attempted over and over to connect with management but was continuously brushed aside and never received a response. I've filed a complaint with the Ontario Consumer Protection and awaiting next steps. This is perhaps the most unprofessional business I've ever worked with. The technicians lack professionalism and skill and the management I assume is worse but I haven't yet spoken to them despite numerous attempts to do so. DO NOT hire these folks. There are hundreds of other companies that will act with more integrity than Appliance Repair Expert. I will be passing this review on to my entire network of friends and colleague.
