Right before buying our first house, we were told by many of our friends to get a home inspection done. After searching through various online website, we decided to get a walk through home inspection. We didn't really have the money to spend on the guaranteed inspection so we went for the slightly cheaper version. The inspector, Alan I think his name was, started right at our door. he told us all about the insulation problems (caulking around the door) from the front of our house. He also carefully inspected every nook and cranny of each room. In all, he spotted a leak, insulation problems, and some flooring problems(shifting tiles, etc.). At the end of the inspection, he also provided a report of all the problems and what could be done to fiz them. Lovely working with them.

There was this small tree that was tilting precariously over the sidewalk and onto the street. It wasn't big at all and really, we only got rid of it because it was being a bother and winter was coming. We didn't want any of the storms uprooting of yard. The one thing that was a bit hard about the process is that their website is little help. They have good descriptions of their services, but nothing really to tell if they're in your budget. You have to call them up. Nonetheless, they came in and sawed the tree down. They took all the necessary safety precautions and they even didn't it at a convenient time for us. They also cleaned up our yard it a bit. You have to call them in person, but they're work is amazing.

For a fashion class we needed to make a bag of some sorts as well as a plushie. Unfortunately, the class fees didn't include fabric. So I went downtown to search for some striped fabric. Most of the fabric stores were too disorganized to really find a specific type of fabric. I mean, browsing was fine, but finding something you already set your mind to was impossible. So when I got to Downtown Fabrics, I wasn't expecting much. However, the place was organized and had a wide variety of patterns and textures(They had wide and thin striped in about 5 colours). The staff is helpful but they aren't trying to make a sale. They're around if you need them, but they won't bug you.

We had a hard time finding a snow plowing company that would do our clean up because the street we live on is quite narrow. Our complex area was looking for a snow plowing company and someone said Monster. The cover pretty much all of Toronto, so that's good. Also, they guarantee clean up of all snow above some depth. I think it's 1 inch of snow. All for a flat rate. We didn't really worry when the snow was coming down hard. It was always cleared by a reasonable time. Lovely.

We called up Oliver's because a family friend recommended we try them out after we complained about dusty chimney's. It took a bit of haggling and a few phone conversation but we got the price to approx. S1700. It's a decent price and wroth it. The man that came over was courteous and answered our never ending questions. This was the first time we had this done, and he educated us on the different types of filters and caps. Lovely job, but it takes a bit of time to get the price down.

The response from the company was quick and they did indeed fix the clogged drain within the promised 24hours. The great thing about this company is that they give you the price in writing before they start. Even if the problem turns out to be bigger than anticipated, they still charge the same. Previously, I've been stuck with a broken drain because we found out it was too expensive to fix halfway through the process. The man who came over was lovely as well. He was polite and didn't make too much of a hassle. I recommend this to most of my friends when they have issues with their plumbing.

Not very good at all. Very expensive and not as good quality as the TV ads show. All in all, very disappointed. They do actually finish in one day, but really it's just like a lid placed on top of your old tub. It's not even fixed well. It shifts when you put any force on it. Looking back, it would have been cheaper to just get it enameled and it probably would have been better quality.

This one is lovely. With all the recent confusion in the media of disposal companies holding your stuff hostage for more money, this was refreshing. When the truck arrived, the first thing they did was tell us the price and got the contract signed. Everything went quite smoothly, even though I was expecting worse.

I paid about $150 dollars for a 5x14, and while there wasn't anything outstanding about them, I got the service I accepted. No one rude, customer service was decent and was always available. Nothing to brag about, but nothing to complain about either. A hassle free process.
