Overall, I wouldn't recommend GreenFox for a few reasons, their customer service is lacking (we had to be in regular and frequent contact to get information and make sure things were moving forward), there were things left undone and a bit subpar (things left behind/scratches/silicone on the window/trim pieces not fitted properly), 10 months from quote to final paperwork, and mis-information about financing. Based on the reviews we found on this site we went with GreenFox, whom we heard of after attending a home expo in town, and after getting a couple quotes. After all is said and done, and 10 months (February-December) from first meeting to final paperwork, we aren't totally impressed with their customer service, the product itself is OK. The sales agent we had may have been new and didn't know the product very well. We wanted a garden/greenhouse window, but she wasn't familiar with the terminology so it took some time to figure out. There were also some delays in getting the quote/paperwork as she wasn't responsive to our requests for information. When we would call the office we wouldn't hear back from anyone and when we asked about the delays the "blame" was usually put on the receptionist for not passing on the message, instead of just being accountable as a team. After getting the quote we were told that we would qualify for an additional 10% off if we booked installation in the next 6-ish weeks. We went for that deal and after some time trying to nail down a time for install, granted my shift work schedule was an issue, we finally started installation in April. The install contractors are good, they come between the scheduled times (more often at the end of the window) and work throughout the day. The windows are a decent quality, and we have noticed a difference in heating/cooling costs, but they aren't high quality and the vinyl click-in trim has micro scratches in it which they said was from the factory and shipping. The contractors are good at tidying up, but some things get left behind. We had a side light installed at the front door, which is very nice, and while they put up drywall to fill in they don't tape or mud the patch. It took 2 days, which is to be expected, to install the windows and doors, but the outside trim around the front door was the wrong colour so there needed to be a second install date which included the garden window. Speaking of the garden window...when the first install was booked we weren't told that the garden window wasn't going to be included as it hadn't arrived from the factory. Had we known that we would have waited to have everything installed in one shot. In the end it was another month between the first round of installation and the second. To note, the garden window has clips to put up shelves but you have to pay extra for the shelves - also something we weren't told. There was a final inspection once everything was completed but a couple of the issues remaining weren't able to be fixed - e.g. the corner trim piece sits away from the wall due to the paint build up from the previous windows. something that the installers could have filed down when the corner piece was installed if they had noticed it didn't sit properly. On to financing - we were told that the windows could be financed through their provider and we took advantage of that as we were told that the loan could be transferred to the next home owner. There were many calls back and forth between GreenFox, us and the finance company Snap as there were many mistakes made as the original amount quoted wasn't what was being financed (they tried to finance a higher amount). Fast forward...when all was said and done, we now have a lien on our house (which GreenFox didn't tell us about, but Snap said was what usually happens) which affects our equity and now means that we can't transfer the loan to the next home owners should we decide to sell. I think we will be going with someone else to do the basement windows when we are ready.

We are very sorry to hear about your experience, as that is definitely not the level of service we strive for. Unfortunately delivery of your garden window was later then quoted our supplier took longer due to high demand for windows in Ontario this summer and we were not aware of it until your job was scheduled. The SNAP loan you are taking for the windows is not transferable to other person and we should have explained it to you better and it was not due until everything was complete. Once again we apologize for inconvenience, we try to make the process as easy as possible for home owner but sometimes things do not go the way they planned. Thank you for your business and give us a call if you have any questions, we are here to help. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
