We discovered that our home inspection quoted 30% knob and tube was actually closer to 100% {!!!] We knew that th reno was going to be extensive in our 2 story townhome, and needed someone who would be able to move quickly as we had not allotted enough time before we moved in. We can't say enough good things about the folks at Java. Their quote was extremely detailed and competitive, delivered quickly, and they started within the week. Yunior and crew were an absolute pleasure. He took us every step of the way through the home, made useful and practical suggestions, was polite, thoughtful and courteous (which meant a lot as we were in the home during the renos), and left the place looking terrific (even doing a pretty darn good patching job after wards). The home passed inspection with flying colours on the first go, which confirmed everything we suspected about Java - the work and their crew are absolute quality!

Tom was able to come and change our locks less than a day after we called. He was very pleasant, and honoured the price he quoted us on the phone. The work was done cleanly and quickly, with all of the sawdust [from drilling the door] swept away; the place was left tidy. He even made us a couple extra keys. A pro all around, and a delight to have work in our home!

We needed to replace 5 windows (including an odd-sized one in the bathroom). One of the windows had been subjected to serious leaking over a number of years. Two were simply broken and couldn't close anymore. Such are the joys of owning a 100 year old house. We received 6 different quotes from companies. Right from the first visit, we felt very good about the idea of hiring Brock Doors and Windows. Kevin provided us with detailed literature, loads of information, and, after measuring the windows, gave us a quote on the spot. He did not try to upsell us to extra items (as did one company, even after we made it clear that additional items were not in our budget) or pressure us to accept his quote right away (as did another company, who told us there would be a discount if we signed on right away, but not if we waited a few days to look around.) Kevin responded quickly to our subsequent questions and gave us a realistic timeline for delivery and installation. His professionalism made our choice for us - we hired Brock. They were competitive - although not the cheapest, the good communication made us confident that the installation would be as attentive and professional as the sales. The installer came to give the windows a second measure, then called to arrange installation when the windows were delivered a few weeks later (and even faster than we had anticipated!). Installation took the better part of the day, as the gentlemen were thorough and careful and worked diligently until the job was done. They made certain that a rotted ledge was replaced, not just covered, and did a wonderful job in sealing and finishing the windows, using the original frames and preserving the character of the house. They showed us how to open and tilt them safely, and provided me with a proper invoice and warranty when the job was completed. The house was left clean inside and out, and the windows look absolutely wonderful. We are certain that we made the right choice, and will recommend Brock to our friends (and to you!)

My husband and I are absolutely delighted with our new carpet from Mark and Victorious Carpet Installation. Mark came by to give me a quote (which was accurate) and gave me solid and useful information about the carpet and underpadding that would best suit our needs and budget. We felt good about hiring them because we felt that Mark was knowledgable about his product. Although we were price conscious, we agreed to go with a slightly more expensive underpadding because we felt that it was being recommended with purpose. We're glad we did; it feels great. The installer was on time and the place was left clean. Somehow they managed to accommodate carpeting our difficult banister and ramp, and did a clean finish up against some tricky bathroom and kitchen tiling. The work was done to perfection, and we're confident that we made the right decision - the place looks wonderful!
