The broiler did not work. When technician arrived (of course!) broiler worked but cooking part bottom of oven did not. Tech came in with broiler parts. Turned out that igniter was faulty. Fortunately tech had part in his truck and could replace. He had to spend considerable time diagnosing and accessing problem part. I would have used a few choice words wrestling with the bolts in oven. He was calm, cool and collected! This is the second time I have used Maydone and will continue to do so -- and recommend its technicians. Sorry -- I do not remember Technician's name

Digital panel on the front of GE 14 year old GE profile gas range suddenly did not work. Tried many internet suggestions - still nothing. Went to HomeStars to find a repair service. Maydone replied to email query the next morning. An email conversation resulted in 2 technicians coming a day later. Fixed the panel and charged only for the house call. A few days later, I had to clean the oven necessitating taking off oven door. Finally got door back on but it did not close (lock for self clean was down & blocked it). Again searched internet and tried many things - door still blocked. Finally called Maydone back. Came within 24 hours. Technician opened door, touched the lock, closed door and it closed perfectly. I stood with mouth open (had worked on it for hours; took heavy door off a half dozen times). I really do not know what was wrong. Technician smiled and said he could not really charge for that! I chose Canada Custom Shutters (CCS) because I did not like the look of vinyl and thus searched for wood alternatives. Secondly, I had a series of angled windows to cover so needed a custom design. The reviews of CCS by customers were positive and it was a local manufacturer A principal with CCS arrived shortly after I contacted them, discussed the options, showed me samples of the construction of the shutter and after preliminary measurements gave me a quote. It was obvious that the angled windows, while a challenge, were very doable. The final price was exactly what was quoted even though the installer had to modify one shutter because of uneven framing of one angled window. I really like the custom look of having frames and shutters on the windows that were painted by CCS to exactly match the trim in the room. CCS did the painting as the shutters were constructed so it looks great. This large A frame loft is defined by its windows. Wooden custom-made shutters are not the cheapest alternative but are worth every penny. The shutters are what grab your eye as you enter. They are truly elegant.
