I have requested quotes from 3 contractors listed in Homestars to repaint 11 kitchen wall-cabinet doors on early October 2017. Sweet Painters was selected as they responded promptly, sounded knowledgeable and the price was reasonable. They picked up the doors on Oct 20th and 4 weeks later, a painter came to finish off the frame. When the doors were installed on Nov 18th, I spotted some paint cracks/peeling at the lower part on some of the doors and some doors were not aligned properly. I emailed and sent pictures of the defects and asked Imran to have them fixed. They came to realign the doors at the end of November but the problem of the paint cracks/peeling were not addressed completely. Since then, there were hardly any responses (email or messages) from Sweet Painters, and he replied he had phone problem, family visiting, holidays, baby coming etc., etc., etc. He emailed me that his team would come on January 9th between 7-8 pm and we had to rush back before 6 pm as they arrived early. She used a tissue paper to dip the paint at a few areas, borrowed a hairdryer to hasten the touch-up and brushed us off as she claimed the peelings were from the MDF, hence not their problem. I checked the lower cabinet doors which are the original and all of them are in good shape. Five of the 11 doors that they painted have peeling around the lower part of the doors. If it was MDF, Sweet Painter should have noticed when or after they spray painted the doors and made us aware at the time. I emailed Imran again and sent pictures and he agreed to repaint the problem areas. On Jan 27th, I got a v-message that they were going to pickup the doors. I called back and she said they had already left the area. I told her it was only 5 minutes ago when she made the call and she reluctantly agreed to come back. She came in by herself with one screwdriver on her hand and again refused to do anything and left. I called Imran and he agreed to send his painter in 2 weeks to remedy the situation. Since then, no emails, no calls nor message.
