Mike said his drone had detected a couple of raised tiles. They were roofers working in the area and he could fix the problem for $450. Once he was on the roof he detected a hole in the wood which would need replacing so the job would now cost $3,200. So I
said ok go ahead. Soon after, he said the roof wood had dry rot, we need to do your whole roof and replace all the wood, shingles, icing paper and insulation for the very special price of $30,000! I was starting to get suspicious and this was confirmed when I received more favorable quotes. I did not want to proceed with the big job at that time so I asked Mike to finish the small job that he had started. He said that in order to finish properly would cost $6,400 (I recall that figure included gst). Since I wanted to get shut of the whole business, I agreed and went off to brunch with my friend and asked my son if he would be kind enough to pay them when they finished the job.
This last bit will blow your mind!
Mike comes to my son and says that it is absolutely essential that the beams be sprayed with a special chemical solution. The additional cost will be $4,000!
AND the whole bill had to be paid in CASH!!

I dealt with Shane (the owner). He was very friendly on the phone (this is sometimes an issue with contractors I find - they don't have a pleasant telephone manner).

He was very eager to answer my questions in detail and was very prompt whenever I called him. He has a degree of professionalism I haven't had the pleasure of experiencing beforehand with other contractors.

When he came to provide an estimate on the job, he was very kind and accommodated my elderly father (his house required the repairs) and was very patient with him. My father can be a handful when it comes to negotiations (he was in sales before he retired and still has that tough-as-nails bargaining skills lol). Shane was calm the whole time and you can tell he is a seasoned businessman.

When it came to the estimate, Shane was very clear on what he recommended. He even went above and beyond to show the differences in shoddy work vs. good quality work by showing us photos and the materials that were to be used previous clients. He was very prepared and it showed.

This level of detail is why we chose Ready to roof and masonry.

Once we agreed on the estimate and pricing, they quickly set a date and time to start the work. To my surprise, they were very punctual with timing and finished the work before the estimated date.

We were so happy with the level of service, that I had to come and write a review for this company.

You hear so many stories about contractors living to their end of the contract - and we did take a bit of a leap of faith as we didn't know anybody personally who used ready to roof and masonry for repairs - but I am very happy with the quality of work, professionalism and how quickly they fixed everything. The best part: The level of communication was above and beyond anything I expected!
