Second Experience Not Very Good

We first used this company to re-tile a small kitchen and laundry room, and it went OK with few hiccups. We decided to hire them again to replace the laminate flooring in our condo with Vinyl plank. At the last minute, I mentioned that we were going to have the place painted, and they wanted to do that also. We agreed and went through everything I needed done and agreed on a price. We were told it would take 3 and possibly 4 days. I had purchased a lot of plastic and asked them to cover everything (I have an autoimmune condition and allergies).

The first picture shows what we came home to, on the 4th day. There were mounds of dust on everything (I am still cleaning it weeks later); nothing seemed to have been covered. The expensive vacuum cleaner I had just bought was a mess inside, having been used to vacuum sawdust (it will have to be serviced since it is not working as well). The kitchen and microwave were filthy, with tea and coffee stains throughout. One of my prized pieces of furniture was damaged (second picture) but they insisted they did not do it. The flooring and painting was mostly completed and I was satisfied with the quality of the work for the most part. There were few scratches and dents.

They stayed on the 4th day to finish the work and came back for a while on a 5th day. While working, Mikhail's partner kept complaining that there was too much furniture and "stuff", that he was not making any money, and that I should consider paying him more. He said that he loses money every time he returns to the condo.

As it stands, 1 closet remains unfinished (baseboards not changed and painting not completed), baseboards not painted in the laundry room, most of the caulking is not done, a damaged kitchen tile is not replaced, a door frame is not adequately repaired, one room's ceiling is not adequately painted, 1 transition piece is not installed (they also lost it), they made a mess painting over every electrical plate, they damaged one light switch so we cannot use the dimmer function, window screens were not properly replaced, back-of-door shelves were not replaced, some closet shelving was not adequately screwed into the wall, a cart full of garbage? was left In the corridor which prompted neighbours to complain, and there are 2 unsightly gaps in the floor, under door frames. They also damaged a costly step stool by getting paint all over it.

Despite agreeing to do 2 small, extra tasks for me, Mikhail's partner was, on the whole, quite rude and seemed unhappy to be there. He kept asking me to deposit everything I owed, less $150 for 1 task that Mikhail was supposed to complete at a later date. I had already paid them most of what was owing, less $1000. By my estimate, taking into account all the work left, which I will have to hire someone else for, and the damages incurred, I am in the hole about $2000

Mikhail apologized for his partner's behavior at first but when I listed what had yet to be completed, he ghosted me. I will not be able to do anything about it due to my poor health but I can definitely say that I cannot recommend this company.

Approximate cost of services:
$7,000.00
