Alex helped fix up basement floor. In one room he poured self-level compound and in the other space he grinded and patched to prep the floor for flooring. He worked quickly, was responsive, and was a pleasure to work with.

Days before COVID struck in 2020, our sewer main had to be replaced, leaving a big gash in the tiled floor of our basement. A first attempt at getting it fixed, in 2022, proved fruitless as no contractor was willing to do the job for a reasonable price. However, we did come to realize that tiling was not a good solution. We got lucky in 2023, finding Alanis Epoxy Flooring through Home Stars. From the first e-mail or phone call, everything went smoothly. Alex and his two sons are a very fine team indeed. Among the many tradespeople we have dealt with over some 40 years of homeownership, I would certainly rank them at the top : kind, friendly, professional are some of the adjectives which best describe them.

I hired Alanis to save me from a disaster of a job that a previous contractor had started. Having been burnt previously I was very cautious about hiring again. Alex and his son (also Alex!) had nothing but patience for me. They answered all my questions and made sure I was comfortable with every step. When they claimed it could all be done in a day I was dubious. Even more skeptical when I asked them to start in the afternoon. But the Alex and co. came through. Not only did they talk a good game, but they walk one too. We are so happy not just with the results, but with the process as a whole. Oh and did I mention, they took extra care to keep the are clean, including individually covering each step down to the basement, and offering to wash our deck clean of any dust they might have caused. Would 100% recommend them and most likely will be reaching out on future jobs.

Alex and his team were responsive to the initial request for proposal, meeting on site to review the existing conditions, and showed-up on time to start and complete the work. An existing section of the slab on grade was levelled and coated with a slip-resistant epoxy finish. I would definitely recommend them for new clients looking for a trustworthy and skilled team to perform the work they do.
