Ottawa Plastering & Painting

Prior to a whole-house exterior repaint, some wood siding and trim pieces had to be replaced. I was looking for a painting company that would also do this wood work. Several replied in the affirmative.
Justin impressed from day one; he was the first to contact me when the project was posted to HomeStars and showed up when he said he would. After reviewing all bids I chose to go with OP&P. Since the siding was a special order mill run, we agreed the painting would take place first, followed by the repairs.
Justin and crew spent the better part of a day pressure washing the exterior, followed by a full day of scraping and sanding. The following day - a Saturday - painting began - in a heat wave! Early in the next week, some trim was removed from the chimney, revealing serious rot in the OSB sheathing; even the framing was compromised. We agreed that I would supply the materials and Justin would supply the labour and tools to rebuild the affected part of the chimney. Painting continued through the week and was substantially complete on Friday. Saturday the chimney was partially demolished, and rebuilt with new framing, sheathing and house wrap. New siding and trim followed on Monday, with some final clean-up.
Justin's crew were professional and hard-working; they did an excellent job. And I was happy to learn that this is more than just a plastering and painting company, with the skill and experience to smooth out our unexpected bump in the road!

Justin and co. installed drywall, smoothed popcorn ceiling and made other fixes throughout our home. They also did some painting.

Crew showed up on time, communicated it they were running late or needed more product.

A lot of people can plaster and paint. Very few pay attention to detail and device like these fellows do. I had a large metal workbench cramping their stately and work efforts. Not only did they dismantle my bench, they took photos and reassembled everything! I did not expect that level of service! Justin and his crew are reliable, capable and pay attention to detail!

Not only did Justin walk me through the process for covering (3 skim coats with drywall mudd, sanding, and painting) our stipple/popcorn ceiling (around 450 sqft) but he also walked me through the contract and everything was made clear. He was a true professional with all the equipment, covering the floors, use of scaffolding, and proper clean-up, etc. Not once did I feel like he was trying to get away with doing a poor job - he was genuinely interested in my happiness with the project to the point that he painted an extra coat (for a total of 4 coats) for me - free of charge. In the end, I now have an immaculately flat and perfect ceiling that I am so excited to come home to - and that will no doubt improve the value of our home!

He was very friendly and flexible with our timeline, he gave me pointers on how I should paint my walls (as I was planning to do) and seemed genuinely interested in helping me where possible. He offered to leave the scaffolding for us to use when painting the walls which was tremendously helpful.

He offered to skim coat over a small section of wall we have that has wood paneling for a very good price and did so in a timely manner before we were to officially move in. I will surely use his services in the future as he is the real deal!

We needed some framing and drywall work done quickly in our kitchen in order to keep our project on schedule with other trades. After a quick phone call, Justin was on site the same day with a quote and he had members of his team on site the next day. The work was done beautifully and quickly. They took extreme care to make sure the area was sealed off to keep the rest of the house as clean as possible. During the project Justin was quick to respond to any questions we had. I will absolutely be recommending OPP to my friends and family and we will be using their services again.

The work involved cover coating, mudding, priming and painting the ceilings. A large team did a thorough job ensuring that our floors, windows and doors were protected. Their technique was fantastic - more affordable than drywall and more air quality-friendly than scraping. The team was skilled, punctual and friendly and the owner is very reasonable, professional and accessible. I highly recommend them!

Justin is very dependable. No job is too small. I first met Justin when I had crown moulding damage from a leaky roof. Justin came by to take a look the same day I contacted him and started work the following day. He did a fantastic job. Since then, he's done other work for me.
