I would absolutely recommend McDonald Forestry Tree Care Services. Steve came out and quoted the work needed to be done on our trees, he was upfront and very honest (suggested waiting on pruning 3 of our trees as they were not doing well and would most likely need cutting down at a later date) His team were professional and friendly, they were punctual and did a great job with pruning and clearing up. We definitely will have Steve and his team as our tree care specialists whenever we need our trees taken care of. Anyone using them will be in excellent hands :)

We moved to a new North York location in Dec 14.

House had a dead ash and cedar tree in back yard; a large apple tree blocking a bedroom window, and a storm-damaged birch in the front yard. All required removal.

Contacted a well known tree-removal company whose estimate was over 4k to do this work.

l then contacted McDonald Forestry and the owner (Steve McDonald) arrived the next day. We reviewed my plans and Steve demonstrated the flexibility in pricing and tree removal solutions l was happy with.

Company had to reschedule one day due to -40C weather, but Steve kept me well apprised of his scheduling issues....this is the kind of professionalism l expect in a contractor.

Team showed up on time, Steve walked me through his removal plan, and they set to work. Professional and safe set-up.

Team removed all brush and debris and even the sawdust from the snow in the front yard!

Given the quality of workmanship and professionalism Steve and his team showed, as well as a price half that of a well-known competitor, l wouldn't hesitate to use them again, or refer them to any customer.

I needed a tree cut back as it was damaged by the ice storm and branches were constantly hitting our roof and were hanging over our neighbours yard. I called Steve and he gave me a couple of options. Steve and his crew came to do the work and pruned back the tree. He did a great job, was very professional and knowledgeable and cleaned up the yard afterwards. Lots of sunlight coming through now. I would recommend Steve without hesitation.

I've used McDonald Forestry Tree Care for several years now. They just did another job for me after a big tree was uprooted by wind. Steve and his crew always do the job professionally and clean up before they leave. I find their prices very fair. They have done a couple of difficult jobs for me which involved big trees in awkward locations. I will certainly use them again if the need arises, and I always recommend them to friends.

Steve and his guys were fantastic. Our decaying tree was in the back corner of our yard, overhanging 3 of our neighbours yards.
Steve was very careful to lower all the branches into our yard, but still cleaned up all four yards. Once the the tree was gone there was a hole left in the fence which Steve thoughtfully blocked up so the neighbours dog wouldn't escape! I would highly recommend these guys!!

Steve and his crew did a great job removing our 27 inches diameter Norway Maple from our back yard. Steve has very good business acumen, has good technical knowledge and is generous with information. He is a seemingly gentle soul who enjoys his work. I would recommend McDonald Forestry without hesitation.

Steve and his team did a good job in removing the dead ash tree in my backyard and the clean up afterwards. Steve was very responsive in answering our questions. We are very satisfied with the whole experience.

I am very pleased with the service provided by McDonald Forestry Tree Care and I would gladly hire them for future work, or recommend them to others. I had a large Manitoba maple tree in my backyard which had grown, over time, too close to my home. Steve arrived promptly to consult and provide his estimate, which I found fair. He and his team arrived on schedule to remove the tree and grind out the stump. The work was done quickly and all debris was cleaned up. Job well done!

The city came by because my neighbours complained about the dead ash tree in our backyard. They were nice enough not to write an official citation so I could get some quotes (and....why can't neighbours just civilly talk to one another instead of complaining to the city?...but I digress). Steve gave the best quote by far and was very professional, friendly and fast. I don't want to have to do this again, but if I did, it would be with McDonald Tree Care Services.
