Laundry room sink overflowed, flooding all 3 floors of our house. The crew (Andre and Cam) showed up very promptly and were exceptional pleasant. They were extremely professional and thorough. Worked diligently on drying our home in extreme temperate conditions and remain pleasant and happy. They did not hesitate to address any of our concerns and even showed us first hand the answers we were looking for.

Manager (Dave) visited our property twice and took the time to explain all details of what was happening and answer any and all questions that we had without ever seeming rushed. The crew also operated in this fashion.....taking the time and care to discuss anything that we brought forth.

Noticed water dripping out of a light on our main floor -- not generally a good thing. Family had used Restoration 1 for a big leak a couple of years ago and were very happy so we called them. Dave talked things over with my wife and we agreed that we could wait until the next day -- but Dave gave us a cell phone number to call overnight if anything changed. He arrived on time the next morning and did a thorough inspection. Walked through the possibilities and fortunately it was a relatively minor problem. He advised me to not have them do any formal drying work (as he thought it would be more harm than good) and didn't charge for the assessment process. He was friendly and I felt like I understood how he was thinking which was reassuring. Totally recommend them.

I called David and he came within 1 hour of the phone call. He explained everything. He accommodated my work hours and came to check on the drying equipment at night. David made a stressful situation less stressful.

The guys had to lift the carpet, take down the walls, remove insulation, dry everything out, replace the underlay (carpet was able to be saved) and put everything back together. Job isn't complete yet but the guys are cheerful, awesome at explaining what needs to be done and why, and just great to have around in such shit circumstances. I'd get them back anytime!

I strongly recommend Restoration-1 and thank them for the timeliness and quality of their work. Due to the faulty seals within the exhaust pipes from two new high efficiency furnaces installed in 2014, water slowly leaked from these pipes into the basement wall over perhaps the last three years. This first led to water collecting around a window-jamb immediately below the pipes. The water then dripped into the insulation behind the gyproc and saturation of the gyproc-wall itself. Mold developed. Our home insurance firm would not cover the damage, as they concluded it arose from faulty workmanship when the exhaust pipes were installed and because they do not cover damage caused by mold. The remediation firm that typically works for the insurance firm chose not to undertake the required remediation work, as it would not be covered by the insurance firm ... even though we agreed to pay for the work ourselves. We then contacted Restoration-1 for assistance. The owner-manager of Restoration came to our home within 90 minutes of our call, assessed the problem, and prepared an written estimate of remediation costs, which they honoured. They began remediation work the next day. As soon as the wall was opened-up, the furnace-installers replaced the leaking pipes. As soon as the leaking was stopped, Restoration-1 carefully removed wet gyproc-wall and wet insulation. They treated the mold, and then set drying machines in place to dry-out the area. Then then provided a second written estimate for the restoration work (now that it was clear what would be required), and they honoured that estimate too. In fact, they reduced the actual price for the restoration once it became clear that certain work they had planned for was not actually required. Three days after completion of the remediation, Restoration-1 returned, to install new installation, a vapour barrier, and new gyproc. They also painted the reconstructed wall. Their work was completed with care and haste. David and Andre were very pleasant to deal with. David, the owner and general manager, kept me informed daily of his plans for the day ahead, and he honoured every time-commitment made to me. An excellent firm to deal with.
