During the winter, we wanted to pre-book a renovation for our main bathroom in the late spring or early summer. With all the manpower and supply problems out there, we soon realized this would be easier said than done. We repeatedly encountered poor or no communication from contractors, with some even coming over to provide a quote and then going totally incommunicado afterwards. A huge pain and waste of time for everyone. Summit was one of the few contractors willing to commit to a specific time period and a specific cost, and we are very grateful to them for this.
Arash and his team kept to the promised timeline, and we are heartily pleased with the outcome. Fine workmanship and a nice bunch of tradespeople to work with. A special nod to Hakim, Omar, Reza, Sayeed and his son; and the tilers (whose names I've forgotten) were top notch.
Arash provided excellent advice and contacts for suppliers all the way along, and he was very accommodating about handling jobs not directly related to the bathroom renovation -- and at a reasonable additional price.
The only reason we're not giving Summit a "10" is that we sometimes found the communication with Arash a little strained. We got the impression that Summit is somewhat overwhelmed by all the work they've taken on, and this sometimes translated into tense exchanges with us and his crew. We wonder, though, if this is true among all contractors these days, what with all the stresses and strains of the pandemic and economic uncertainties.
We also recommend that if you have special concerns about clean-up after each day's work, that you really insist on this and make sure Summit takes care of this at the end of each day. Overall, everyone was good about keeping dust and disruption down to a minimum, but it seems like a little more could have been done, especially where non-Summit tradespeople are brought in. Again, this is probably a problem across the sector, but insisting on this from the start might save some headache and prevent couples from ending up in divorce court!
We look forward to saving up some money and having Arash and his team over again soon for another excellent renovation job. They probably charge more than many contractors out there, but we feel the extra expense was worth it.
