Called them for a leaking Dishwasher, the $80 call out fee doesn't include any work. tldr; they charged $300 for 30min of unnecessary work.

Once on-site they charge an additional fee before they will provide an estimate. They suggested it was worth paying the additional fee as the parts were likely to be inexpensive and thus it was worth repairing.

After evaluating the machine they concluded that some parts were completely missing and it would cost more than $500 to repair. The missing parts didn't require disassembly to identify and knowing their cost would have made it clear that a new machine would have been more cost effective. Rather than revealing that upon arrival, they withheld the information and misled us by claiming the parts would be inexpensive, so they could extract as much money as possible from the service.

We were charged $300 just to 'diagnose' our washing machine problem, even when we asked them to be up front about the cost at the beginning (if the overall cost was over $500 we probably would have just bought a new one). The technician told us it wouldn't be much to fix - ended up being $1000 when all was said and done (it needed a new control board that took a week to get). If that wasn't enough after he put the machine back together again -the control knob was in the wrong position, he tried to fix it afterwards but didn't. A real disappointing experience.
