When our roof needed replacing more quickly than expected, Andrew and his team were able to accommodate us and fit us in their schedule sooner than expected. He outlined various options and prices for the work, was very honest and forthright about what option he thought was the best for us (not the most expensive!) and then proceeded to replace our roof even during the winter season. The communication was always prompt and responsive to my concerns and the work was very professional and completed in a very timely way. They did a full cleanup after the work was completed and then outlined the full warranties. I am very satisfied with this experience and would recommend Rydel Roofing to anyone who needs work done. Andrew and team completed a roof installation in the peak of their busy season and maintained excellent communication from the start till the end of the project. Quote gave me three options, with three different price points to meet my budget. With best warranties compared to two or three other companies. But once the team arrived, they removed the shingles and installed my new roof in less than 8-10 hours. They're a very professional team that provides high standards of service. When they left you'd barely know they were even there! I highly recommend them for all future roofing jobs.

The stucco on our 50-year-old home was crumbling and we needed new siding in 2020 but the pandemic made it difficult to find a contractor. A year and several quotes later we met Shawn from Rydel Roofing & Siding. He was generous with his time, explaining everything very carefully, and delivered a competitive quote to completely replace the siding on our home with James Hardie products. What was even more impressive was the design; some of the materials we originally wanted were not available due to delays caused by the pandemic. The project manager, Ryan, changed the design and came up with a great look using materials that were readily available so that the work could be completed before winter. We had already ordered new windows, and it was necessary to have the stucco removed by a specialized contractor. Trying to coordinate three different contractors was definitely complicated and might have been very difficult, but Ryan and Shawn were always helpful and flexible and did a great job coordinating their work with the other two.
Just as the work started, we realized that the garage roof (a flat roof) should be replaced before applying siding to the upper storey of the house. Ryan and Shawn quickly prepared a design and quote to replace the flat roof with a new sloped roof technology and brought in one of their roofing teams to perform the work immediately so as to not delay the rest of the project.
In the end, Rydel installed new siding with window/door trims, a new garage roof, new soffits and fascia, and new eavestroughs. Their siding team, led by JR, paid very careful attention to the workmanship, were a pleasure to work with, and always happy to address our concerns. We are very happy with the results and give Rydel Roofing & Siding a strong recommendation.

The project: We planned to replace our 35 year old painted cedar siding with a high quality product that would require less maintenance as we intend to remain in our home for the foreseeable future. We decided it was a good time to replace the 35 year old windows at the same time and had already picked the window company. Altogether, this was a significant renovation on an up-market home and we were looking for a quality job more than an inexpensive job. We brought our own designer and ultimately settled on a combination of products from James Hardie and Chamclad for a modern look.
The selection: We interviewed 4 candidates to do the siding, (some recommended by the product supplier, James Hardie) and obtained 4 quotes. The candidates ranged from small owner-operated to larger multi-crew companies. Although the Rydel quote was not the lowest, all quotes were fairly close in range so that price was not the determining factor. We chose Rydel largely based on the openness, professionalism and good communication during the sales process. We got a good feeling that they could deal with the complexity of the work. We are very happy that we did.
The work: We knew that coordination between the window supplier and the siding contractor would be important and requested a meeting between the two. Rydel immediately engaged with the window company and agreed on a way to coordinate work schedule and agreed on an interface between the windows and siding.
The crew (Eric and Phil) were easy to communicate with and appeared highly motivated to do a high quality job. They had no problem solving many issues required to mate the two different products. Much creative work was done with custom metal work at the interfaces and windows. Anything that was damaged during construction was repaired before we even mentioned it. Daily cleanup was always thorough.
As work progressed, we realized that the roof was not in quite as good shape as we had thought and this was a good time to replace it. Rydel was able to get one of their crews in to replace the roof and keep going with the siding after.
Some work (eaves trough and parging) was done by sub contractors. This work, also, was very well done by well chosen sub-contractors.
Conclusion: In short, Rydel did a great job replacing siding, roof and eaves trough on an up-market home transforming if to a more modern look. They also completed repairs to the house where water damage had occurred after 35 years.
Throughout the project, communication was excellent to inform us of progress and any delays caused by weather and the inevitable Covid-19 induced disruptions.
Perhaps the most telling is that we have no need to call them back as all the finished work appears perfect. Well done!
