It was the end of this summer 2016 when I started searching for a new company to put in a new fence when Align Fence referred me to Harder contracting. At first the gentleman who came out was very kind and understanding of what transpired with another contractor who was fired off my property for substandard and unacceptable work. I agreed to hire Harder contracting to install my new pressure treated privacy fence after I had the old one removed by a different company. Day one every seemed to be going fine with Harder contracting and quick till I realized the boys have followed the grade of my property when they were clearly instructed to follow level with my sidewalks. The supervisor advised that is would be an additional cost to me regardless of their mistake and there would be an additional $180 cost for materials if they were to make the fence level since they've cut the boards down 5"8 instead of the 6"2 I requested. Not to disrupt progress I agreed though this was not my mistake and only not to hinder progress. Harder Contracting had the audacity to keep the old material without permission and already had it loaded away on there truck. At this point I said keep it to avoid any arguments. As a few days went by after the job was done most of the boards warped and separated so bad due to the lack of overlapping, most like to save themselves a board per section and staples started coming out. Harder Contracting missed three appointments to come suggest solutions or repairs and only asked for more money to come out again, apparently the lack of work quality is my fault again somehow. My calls and attempts to contact them have fallen to deaf ears. I got charged a premium for 188 feet of fencing at almost $50/linear foot, $8000 for another substandard job by another wannabe Edmonton construction company.
