Power Outage problem

I called Aidan from CE to fix a problem that I had with the power being out in two rooms of my house. He was polite on the phone and set up an appointment quickly - I called on Thursday afternoon and we scheduled Sat afternoon for him to come out. He arrived pretty much on time, maybe 10 or 15 minutes off the quoted time, and was pleasant and professional. It took him about 30 minutes to diagnose the problem, an outlet in my guest bedroom had a loose wire and burned the plug up, and maybe another 40 minutes to fix it, clean up, and write up the invoice. The price he quoted me before he fixed my problem sounded good, and when I spoke with my dad and a couple other people about it they seemed pleasantly surprised and impressed with the price. Aidan was very nice, he answered all the questions I had for him, and he was careful in my home, if you have any electrical problems definitely give him a call.

Timer Installation

Incredible experience. Community Electric came out to do a couple of installations for us (a motion floodlight and a timer). The quote from Aidan was very reasonable, and he was a really nice guy. Joe came out to do the job and he couldn't have been more helpful. He nailed the job, even after running into a weird hiccup with the renovation of our house that prevented him from installing the floodlight like he initially planned. He made adjustments and it looks and works great. He even helped me fix an outlet and light switch on another electric project I am doing on my own, and gave me some pointers... free of charge. We will definitely call Community Electric again for future services.

Faulty wiring

I had an electrical problem come up last week with my basement wiring and reached out to several Electricians. Community Electric was 1 of only 2 that got back to me and the only one that could make it out in a reasonable amount of time. I was very happy to find out that they'd be able to come out on Monday.
Joe arrived early in the 2-hour time frame that they gave and was very personable. He was able to diagnose and fix the issue very quickly and was out of my house in a half-hour. He also explained the probable cause of the issue and gave some good tips on how to avoid it in the future.
Bottom line, I'm very glad I reached out to Community Electric and I will definitely be calling again for any future electrical needs!

Heater

I had a problem with an electric wall-mounted heater in my office. Called up this local company out of the blue and talked with Aidan. He came over the same day, Friday, and showed me that the fan had quit working. He said he would go back to the office and call me about getting a replacement. The call came an hour after he left, and on Monday two guys showed up on time and replaced the heater. Labour cost was what I expected with 2 different visits. My employees are nice and warm and I am extremely pleased with their services.

fluorescent kitchen light

Aidan was great! I called about a fluorescent kitchen light that was flickering on and off, and he explained that it probably just needed a new ballast (since the fixture had power), and he said it would be around $85 to fix. We scheduled the appointment a couple days in advance for Wednesday at 9:30am, and he arrived promptly. He removed and replaced the T-12 lamp 40 watt ballast for $90 total. He was courteous, responsive, and efficient. I would definitely use their services again.

Chandalier installation

These are some great guys, so I needed a chandelier installed and found Community Electric here on Homestars. They were able to fit me in quickly and arrived 1/2 an hour early to do the work.

They worked fast, were very friendly and did a great job.

I had a ceiling fan that needed to be removed as well. They said it would be no problem to just do it real quick after they finished the chandelier.

After they took the fan down they went to the van and brought up a plate to cover the box that the fan was attached to.

And it was all done for the reasonably low original estimate.

Its always nice to work with a well run business which is also family operated.

Cable work

Awesome service, especially from Aidan who came for the service today. Since buying a house in Toronto I've needed a few small items fixed but am never home to meet with anyone. 2 months in, after partially non-connected cable lines in the 1st and 2nd floors of my house, I called Community Electric already late at 12:30pm on a Sunday and asked how soon someone could be over. I knew they couldn't promise same day but actually did say if I was around, they would try their best to have someone over between 3-5pm. I received a call at 2:30 Aidan would be right over. Walked the house, completely fixed the lines I needed fixed in the quickest and easiest way, and didn't add anything else I didn't need. Even fixed a basement light I've never had work, and pointed out several incorrect light bulbs I have in the rest of the house I might want to watch out for. Will use Community Electric in the future, and highly recommend for anything, small or large. Thanks!

Lighting

I had called and texted B & C electricians a few times and left messages, and no one called me back. Maybe because I had a small job? But when I called Community Electric the phone was answered by live person! Aidan was professional over the phone, asked me for the details, gave me an approximate quote over the phone. Showed up on time (very next day!), did exactly what he said he would and gave me the price he quoted. I will definitely use him for other bigger projects in the future!
