Pest Maven

About a month ago we had a guest spend a night in our basement bedroom, and he was convinced he heard some scratching in the wall or ceiling. Every year or two we have an unwelcome visitor with a long skinny tail slip into our home, and it seemed he or a member of his family was back. A couple of evenings later my wife heard something chewing in the wall in our downstairs rec room which is adjacent to the bedroom. Rob is a pro, knows how rats think, and harnesses their habits to get them leave on their own. Then, he discovered all the little places that I had missed where they could get back in, and covered them with metal to keep them out. No Rats in my walls now, and I think the problem is licked. It's a great feeling to solve a problem with a simple phone call...money very well spent.

We have a century house with a new carpenter ant problem. Rob was very knowledgeable and fit me in as soon as possible, I felt the price was fair and the warranty was a great addition for peace of mind for any future issues, and an additional treatment in the summer. He even took care of some pigeons while he was at it, would recommend to the neighbours.

I contacted the Pest Maven company when i saw a couple of raccoons taking shelter in a spot under my roof. I called them with urgency as i wanted it taken care-off fast, before the raccoons would nest.
Their response to my call was very quick . Rob came by and suggested options that would not only help me, solve my problem,but also not interfere with the nature by hurting or removing any of the raccoons.
The second day Rob brought all the necessary materials and the job was completed with-in a couple of hours. That part of the roof was covered and closed off so no raccoons would go in.

I’ll start by saying that if you have a problem you need dealt with urgently, quit googling and call Rob at Pest Maven – you won’t be sorry.

Background: Have had intermittent issues with mice in the house over the years that were coming from a crawl space attached to the back of my house. Had focussed on sealing “internal” entry points and while the problem was reduced, it wasn’t eliminated. If this isn’t bad enough, I recently found evidence of rat droppings in the house!

With anxiety level through the roof and not sure where to turn, I started googling for pest control companies and ended up calling one of two large companies mentioned on a recent news broadcast. A technician was to call me back to schedule an appointment for the next day. After hours of waiting and having received no call at 6:30 pm, I started googling again and came across the Homestars site. Based on the reviews of previous clients (thank you), I called Pest Maven. Rob responded to our call very quickly which really reduced our anxiety. We had just purchased our home and found that the previous owners had neglected to deal with the issue properly. Their misuse of poison and neglecting entry points caused quite a bit of work but Rob stayed on the job until it was complete. When we later found one last (hopefully) entry point Rob was here in a day and worked tenaciously in a difficult spot to deal with it. Rob is curtious and professional and we would recommend him anytime.

I can't thank Rob enough for his knowledge and professionalism. He took care of a woodpecker issue in my townhouse about 2 years ago and more recently a rat issue in my detached house. He was able to solve both issues in a quick and effective manner and did not use chemicals to solve the problem. I would highly recommend him for any pest removal needs.. you won't be disappointed!
