Wow 1 Day Painting

After trying for many months to get a quote for a full exterior paint job on our Century home in Calgary, we had a timely response from WOW. Due to the complexity of the job (multiple colours, specific extras and significant prep work required) it took an extra day longer than estimated. They sent a properly sized team, and got to work with gusto. Through the job they were attentive to our concerns, and made changes as required on the fly. The results were very excellent... our home looks great! After two hail storms hit our home in one week one month after the job, repair touch ups were conducted with no hassles. We have had a great experience with WOW 1 Day Painting.

I had my garage painted awhile ago and tried to save money by going with the least expensive company (i figured it's only a garage after all). I hired wow one day painting. They were about $150 less than the other quotes (after a 15% promo discount). They came and looked at the job, assured me it was a one day job and quoted it. It ended up taking them a week (2 full days a week apart). When they were done every seam looked like junk. I asked them to come back which they did after much back and forth. This is the results after 3 full days of work from them. They are refusing to do any more without more money. Long story short - sometimes you get what you pay for. I do NOT recommend wow one day painting. Unless you really don't care about results...
Edited - the mudding and taping was done by the builder. The worksite was viewed by wow one day before the quote was generated so they were aware of what needed to be done to mms the finished job look good.

I had a very mixed experience with Wow...

They were great at the quote - on time, quick and courteous and provided me with good information about the company and how things get done in a day.

When it came time to paint...things turned south. I had booked in for a Monday morning start at 8am. The Sunday afternoon the company owner, Sean, left me a voicemail saying that they couldn't start my job until the following Saturday. I called him back, left a message stating that I couldn't wait that long and after a few hours we actually spoke. He said he would have someone at my house at 8am Tuesday. I was okay with that. Come Tuesday, no one showed up. I called Sean again. He promised me that a crew would be there Wednesday. And that he would find a way to make things right for the issues experienced.

The painters showed up Wednesday morning. My wife spoke with them and left them to work. They did the trim the first day and walls the second day, as was told to us during the quote.

Excited to see the work, at the end of day two we walked through and assumed that they had only done one coat. Primer was showing through, the walls looked 'patchy' in some places with obvious roller marks. There was wall paint on the white ceilings and baseboards where rollers had touched or paint had dripped. A couple hours later I received an email from the manager asking what we thought. We were not especially happy with the way the rooms looked. The manager, Justin, suggested I settle up the invoice and that they would sent someone out on Monday to touch everything up. I suggested they send someone out to fix the deficiencies and that payment would be in their hand before they left. He had Mario come out the next day to fix the work. Mario agreed that the job was deficient and set out to make it right. When he finished, we walked through and things looked much better. As promised, he left with payment.

There were no additional charges for the deficiencies being fixed but I was told that normally this would be an additional charge as it is a third coat of paint. The quote reflects something to this effect in the terms and conditions but paint drips on baseboards and roller marks on ceilings?

I believe that Sean (and Justin) made it right by ensuring that Mario came out right away to fix deficiencies and not adding additional charges. The job itself came out okay in the end but the hassle of trying to get the people to the site was difficult and stressful for me. I had to move around other trades I had lined up and worried that my project would not finish on time. Given that it is a rental property it was a large concern.

I am unlikely to recommend to friends and family but appreciate that the company did make gestures towards the shortcomings.

Very impressed with the service of this company. Easy to book an estimate appointment online. The estimator was very personable and had some good recommendations for my project. The painters were equally friendly and came out to my home very soon after I accepted the quote which was greta. Highly recommend this company for painting services.

We have had two very positive experiences with WOW 1 Day Painting. We contracted to have several walls in my sons condo painted, some of which were 25 feet high. We asked to have those only painted to a height of 10 feet to save the cost of scaffolding but found that when they had finished the job they had painted to the ceiling at no additional cost.
The team was on time and did more than was expected.
As that went so well we just had all of the exterior window, door, and batten trim on OUR 2 storey stucco home prepped, repaired and painted. Justin the manager was great working with us on the timing as we had to work around an open house and numerous realtor showing. He went out of his way to accommodate our needs. The two painters I met were very professional, friendly, and attentive to our needs and even replaced a section of window molding. Thank you to Tom, Krys, and Mario for the great work you did. We will most definitely will call WOW for our next painting contract.

The estimation process was quick and professional. We had a large project requiring min of 2 days. Some of the crew were very experienced and others were not. We were concerned when the work was not completed at end of second day, and we had some damage to our new carpet. We communicated our disappointment and sent photos to the owner, Justin and he was very good about responding and reimbursed professional carpet repair, and sent Chris and Mario in to complete the work to our satisfaction. Chris and Mario were fantastic to work with. They are professional skilled painters and ensured the job was completed properly. They completed the work and were good about clean up. Justin was fair and compensated us for the delay and disappointment we experienced at the beginning of the project. We are very happy with the final results and response to our concerns. We will hire them to do some additional work for us when we finish some other renos in our home. Thank you - our home looks so updated now!

From start to finish, I was met with courteous professionals who responded extremely promptly and efficiently to my needs. This was our first time hiring a professional painting company and I would definitely do it again! From the rep who came out to quote our job to the painters who arrived on the scheduled day - everyone was on time to the minute, friendly, and FAST! Having 2 little ones at home we needed our 3 bedrooms painted and it was done in just under 4 hours! The price we received was competitive and fair - no fuss, no mess, no headache, no hassle -no brainer! We have already referred friends of ours who were also very happy with the service they received. We are very happy with our decision and have officially been "Wowed"!

Had a whole house painted. They were definitely not cheap, but needed it done quickly as it was a rental. While the painting itself was a 9.5/10, the customer service, communication and follow up were nothing short of horrendous. All they wanted was the money. I was even told to pay before a walk through was even done. At one point, I was told that nothing further would be remedied until I paid. Go elsewhere.
