We hired Nancy to help us stage our home for sale and the experience working with her was terrific. She did a really thorough walk-through on her first visit, providing tons of information and tips for the initial consult fee. She then arranged for all the furniture we needed to rent and brought in the finishing touches that took our house from nice to beautiful. Nancy understands how to create a neutral look that will appeal to most peoples' taste whether they like modern or traditional styles. She helped us pick bathroom finishes for our reno at no extra charge and what a difference it made! I would have no hesitation recommending Nancy to others looking to stage their home.

The process began with a staging consultation ($150) which provided us with recommendations on what home improvements and repairs to make prior to listing our home and provided ideas for furniture for staging the home. We followed the majority of the recommendations for improvements (e.g. refinishing the hardwood floors, painting much of the first two floors, the deck and some of the front exterior, a thorough cleaning, replacing some worn items and purchasing of fresh flowers for the deck) and rented furniture for our first two floors (which is selected and arranged by the stager). We did not rent outdoor furniture for the deck, but instead left a freshly painted empty deck for viewings. The furniture rental including delivery and pickup cost $3063 (for one month), inclusive of taxes, and the staging cost $1000+HST. Home Decor's staging fee includes rental of various artwork and other accessories used in staging your home which come directly from them. All in with the staging and the cost of the improvements, we spent about 11-12k (after taxes). Prior to this work and the staging, we had a real estate agent assess the market value of our home. Our home sold in a week and the sale price, following the improvement work and the staging, was $25k higher. Since I already had Nancy decorate my bedroom and dressing room to look like a suite, I had her back to do my living room. We sent me many links online first to get an idea of what I liked, then she designed the room, then we both when shopping. Took a few days out of the weekend but it was so fun shopping for beautiful pieces. Nancy always gave me the last word but it was no problem because we always like the same things. She sure knows how to put things together....that's the problem I think most people have. That is, they can piece a 'piece' or two, or like something from a magazine but putting it all together is the magic touch. Nancy has it. Thanks Nancy!

We hired Nancy to stage our condo for sale. Nancy was professional and her communication was good. She knows her stuff and she can make a place look very good for pictures and showings, but she's also very strict it was frightening. Some options were not feasible for us in terms of cost and resources so we would offer work-around or alternatives. Needless to say, our ideas were shutdown. Maybe this is a common practice in the staging business, but it was hard to get actual cost of the rental from Nancy. We just wanted to balance out what we should rent vs what we should buy. We also had a budget and going over it was not in our plan. She also wanted us to clear out our cupboards and fridge to at least 50% of the stuff we use on a daily basis. Since, we live in the condo it was difficult to do. In end we did not empty out our closets or cupboards because the pictures will not show it and we'll take the chance on someone looking and peeking in our stuff during showings. Overall, Nancy made our place look very good in the pictures and for the showings. Did it help sell our condo? I can't tell. The condo market is quite slow this year. But again, the staging did look great and, as a placebo, yes I think it did help sell our condo.
