Zach did all of our work and his work ethic was excellent. He was quick and he always left the work site tidy at the end of each day. His suggestions and input throughout the entire project were amazing. He is a hard worker and he was a pleasure to work with. Request that Zach do all the work you need and you will not be disappointed!

Green Side Up came as promised and fully replaced my fence just as quoted. There were no issues and they completed the job within 3 days, even with a bit of rain.

Zach was the foreman and was very considerate with my lawn during the process and did everything without me asking.

The numerous positive reviews have convinced me to hire this contractor last year to build the driveway borders, interlock walkway, patio and install the armour stone culvert support, overall a fairly large project.
In a couple of days, seeing how the work proceeds, I started developing an uncertain feeling about the quality of work. We’ve noticed that this team of students were cutting the corners in many occasions but unfortunately it was too late to retreat. As an example, when the interlock edging was missed at the patio and I was told that the dirt would hold the stone I have finally realized that it had been a gross mistake hiring this contractor. Plus, at some locations, they left the unfilled gaps between pavers, so I had to fill them himself.
As anticipated, the first winter has brought unpleasant results. Because of the improperly built base water has lifted and displaced the half of the walkway pavers. The armour stone, which was installed to support the culvert, started moving aside affecting the newly paved asphalt and the whole structure looked rather ugly (although it wasn’t pretty in the first place). As to the written warranty, we didn’t have a chance to experience it but, with their attitude and lack of skills and resourcefulness, I wouldn’t trust this contractor to fix things anyway.
However one thing, which this contractor is doing effectively, is selling.
One full star is given in this review, as the patio and borders still hold.
To compare, four years ago, we completed the similar project at the previous house and the quality of work was exemplary while the price was lower.
Update: after one year, the grass starts growing between interlock pavers of the driveway borders one more time telling about the "quality" of work.

I found the Homestars' recommendations helpful in choosing a company to rebuild our fence. I was particularly concerned about the proximity of the fence to an established hydrangea, serviceberry tree, climbing rose bush and a clematis that was covering the old fence. After 20 plus years our builder’s deck was looking a little rickety. I started my search for a company to replace it by asking for recommendations and looking on Homestars. We met with two other contractors who were okay but Jay stood out because I found him easiest to communicate with. We discussed my ideas and he helped me visualize how we could make the best use of the space. I appreciated the thoughtful way that he made suggestions for changes rather than dismissing my ideas. The project grew from just a new deck and patio to a complete transformation of our back yard including stone bordered garden beds and planting. The work started at the beginning of May of 2017. The team had just removed the deck and fence when the skies opened and it rained and rained for days. After it dried up enough to put the cement footings in and complete a few other tasks it rained some more. The project was set back a few weeks because of the weather. When possible Matt and the crew worked through drizzle, wind, chilly and even a few hot days always showing a good attitude and applying their skills to produce quality workmanship. It was worth the wait and we are pleased with the results.

Jay and his team replaced our old wooden deck with a new stone patio, constructed a new shed and replaced our old fence gate. From day one, they were highly professional and did an excellent job of communicating throughout the entire process. They even took care of small details like informing our neighbours when work was starting. Above all, my wife and I got the sense that they were truly focused on making sure that we were 100% satisfied with the work and didn't sign off of the job until we were happy with every last detail. Would definitely recommend them.

Our front deck needed to be replaced with a stone porch to accommodate sudden plumbing issues we faced. Jay was the only company that provided a quote promptly and gave us an accurate timeline for start and completion of the project. The quality of the work that was provided was incredible. Brendan (our masonary expert) was fantastic and the guys were all very professional, getting the work done with high efficiency without compromising quality of the final result.
