New AC and Furnace

Although the price was good the professionalism is the lowest I've ever seen. The installers were very polite and the girl at the on call phone. However, in a time span of 1 month they had to come out 3 times for my AC (something different every time, overcharged at factory, faulty switch, etc) and so far once for my furnace (wasn't even hooked up right). Karl our sales rep got into a fight with me on the phone an hung up on me because we signed up for no interest payments and they tried to charge us everything ($10,000) after instalment (which isn't finished 3 months later by the way). Jason, Karls boss (and friend) is just as unprofessional. He talks down to me because I'm trying to get a straight story because I'm upset that in a month period they came out 4 times. He calls it "fine tuning". I call it bull crap. It's excuse after excuse with him and it's still not done. I will not recommend this company to anyone.

Company Response

We appreciate the feelings on your review Melissa. I wasn't involved in any of the preliminary portion of the proposal and the install but I came rather near the end of the install. I do actually remember Karl, who no longer works for us, becoming emotional himself over the situation and I stepped in to get the project working 100%. We are sorry the install had issues that added stress to your life but working there on in with your husband, Mark, was a real pleasure and him and I worked well together. We never gave up on you and your husband and made certain the install would be in the end, 100% of what we promised. Mark helped to coordinate things so that everything was just the way he wanted and I've checked in with him over the last couple of years to make certain everything was still good. He was happy to hear from me and I wish you and him all the best in the future. Sincerely, Jason, Team ProSolutions.

Backflow Valve, Replaced Sewer Stack, Auger Work, etc.

Sandy is very professional and clearly takes pride in his work. Pro Solutions got the work done sooner than promised, kept the site tidy, and were happy to answer my many questions about the job. Sandy and Jason clearly walked me through every detail and step of the job and were very easy to work with. I would definitely recommend Pro Solutions, and in particular Sandy.

Sewer line backwater valve

Jason, Dir of Opr showed up day after request for quote. Very knowledgable and answered all my questions. After considering estimates, I called PS to crept their estimate. Jackie work coord called back soon after to set up appointment. Prince and Robert showed up on time, explained what they would be doing, the timelines etc., and began their work immediately. Thirty six hours later after, initial installation was completed, inspected by city inspector , the final work was completed to my satisfaction. While the crew was at my home I mentioned a leaking outside tap, they found what I suspected a frost damaged faucet. They gave me an estimate on the spot less their mobilization , demobilization rates, and completed that repair as well. Found all the staff that responded very professional , helpful and friendly. I would call them again if I had a heating, plumbing problem.

Minor plumbing repair

Due to pricing would not recommend for small home plumbing repairs, but if you aren't price sensitive at all, go ahead, I (at this time) don't have a problem with the work.

They charge about $89 to show up, so it really surprised me that they didn't then pro-rate their hourly charge (they charged 3 hours for 2.5 of work). There default rate for plumbing is $110/h, which is probably not unreasonable for a reputable plumber... but not so when the charge a fee for showing up and don't pro-rate. Apparently, plumbing is also a small part of their business, so rates may be more competitive for HVAC work.

The plumber was about 20 minutes late, though not a problem in my case.

Thank-you for the constructive reply Al. I wish I would have seen this review earlier and had an opportunity to reach out at the time. Sometimes our technicians can answer all your questions themselves but other times it takes the management to help you the rest of the way. If you ever again require any further clarity on a service and decide again to give us another chance, we would be happy to field all of your questions beforehand. We have thousands of happy customers and EVERY client is important to us. We try to make each client feel they are getting great value and addressing their service needs properly. Thank-you again for your review and I'm sorry for the displeasure it caused you as you stated above. I'm hoping we have the occasion to make it up to you again in the near future. Sincerely, Bernie, Team ProSolutions.

Replaced Furnaces

We had two furnaces replaced by Pro Solutions in 2005. Shortly thereafter a liquid was leaking unto the top of one of the furnaces from the exhausting vent pipe. A service person detected the source of the leak and used silicone to stop the leak rather than glue or reglue the pipes to stop the leak. The Installation Manual states "All joints must provide a permanent airtight and watertight seal" using a cement primer and cement. Since the liquid is condensate from the inside of the exhaust vent the joints must be air and water tight to prevent CO2 from entering the house as well. The silicone has deteriorated by the condensate which is corrosive and caused the furnace to rust. Pro Solutions states that they warranty their workmanship for 1 year only despite our 10 year warranty. Hence the use of temporary silicone rather than permanent cement despite the danger.

Sir. As per our lengthy telephone conversation. These furnaces were installed in July 2005. I have no record of you calling about this issue if it has indeed been dripping for an extended period of time. The standard labour warranty is 1-year. The City of Edmonton has inspected the installation and it was approved. All manufactures recommend that gas appliances be inspected every two years. If regular maintenance had been performed on these furnaces this drip would have been discovered and repaired. If you wish to have Pro Solutions come and reseal this duct work we would be happy to do so. The cost of the repair would be based on the work performed. I understand you believe after 8 years this venting issue should be fixed at no charge, Unfortunately, your issue has arisen 7 years after the labour warranty expired.

New home all heating and plumbing

Hired pro-solutions to come in and do all the heating and plumbing for a new home. Price wise they were higher than some but the professionalism and quality of work is exceptional (sometimes you get what you pay for). Kept a schedule and worked around the difficulties that were inherent with the project. Found solutions to issues and pointed out things to consider moving forward. The entire team of trades were helpful, knowledgeable and understanding. Other trades and inspectors have commented on the clean work they have done.

It was a real pleasure working with you on your new home project Gerry. I didn't see these well wishes on this review site from before. They have only started marketing more heavily in the last year or so and they want us to use their platform more often. After what you went through to start the whole new home build with the other contractor was a total nightmare and I'm happy to hear you and your young family are doing well! Keep those batteries fresh in that thermostat ;)
Here's to a great future together, sincerely, Jason, Team ProSolutions

replace residential boiler

Prosolutions absolutly came through for us when our boiler system caught fire. Always came on time, Installed new boiler sysytem as promised with not 1 extra cost, not to mention price was very comparible with other quotes. Install looks great and works great!. All employees were very friendly, the company stands behind there guarantee. It's very unfortunate there rating is so low on here, I will absolutly call them if needed again as well as recommend them!! Warranty work is also fully guaranteed as our boiler needing tweaking after install due to being installed in summer and it was not a problem for them to come out!!

Repair Central Air under Warranty

I have a central air system that was installed by Pro Solutions, it has not worked right for 3 years and every time they came out it is for the exact same problem. I have paid over $300 to have it fixed, as has the previous home owner for the exact same problem. When I called again to tell them I still had the same problem and wanted it fixed I was told to call another company as they do not have an employee at this time that works on Central Air systems! BUT it is under warranty and was not fixed right the first 4 times!!! I paid for it to be fixed and if it can't be fixed by Pro Solutions they need to find someone to fix it as well as give me back my money for a job that has been paid for twice so far and still not right.
I would never use this company again!

Shower Install

The company made a quote for a shower install and then added in extra time from the original quote. The office rep, when confronted with the bill, double talked her way through by rounding up all the hours which actually meant double billing on top of changing the rates originally quoted. Instead of doing the right thing and compensating the customer for the mistake, the company decided to justify all of their numbers, even though they didn't gel. Even though the plumber was good, the company ethics are marginal. The girl who originally made the quotes conveniently doesn't work at the office although she apparently is an off and on 20 year employee. I would never recommend this company to anyone because they didn't honor their original quote. I hope enough people read this to make sure if they need a plumber, make sure the quote includes everything, especially all the hidden costs. The company even added in an estimate for another job and charged it to the shower install. The office rep double-talked this added cost as well so there was no acknowledgemnet based on actual fact written on the bill. There are alot of good plumbers out there but its the companies like this you have to watch out for.
