I hired Kovar contracting to replace all the aluminum eavestrough with seamless trough and T-Rex gutter guard along with new soffit and fascia.

Alex came to the house and took all the old product down and showed me that not only was the old aluminum falling off because the wood it was fastened to was particle board and had decayed but that it was installed over the solid wood original soffit. He took the time to show me that only a few holes had been cut to let air into the attic and some of the vents had simply been attached to the soffit over solid wood and not opened up.

Throughout the job Alex was meticulous about the way he worked. He explained that it mattered which way the soffit ran from the front and from your laneway. He said " it should always be a clean run visually from the main access of your house... it matters because it looks sloppy if you have right angles cutting a clean line of soffit ". Now, I don't profess to understand this but I can tell you it looked fantastic when it was done! I understood what he meant after it was finished because it literally gave a crisp new look to the house from all sides.

Alex was very professional and treated my home like he wanted his treated and i couldn't be happier to have had him and Kovar Contracting on my property. It took them three and a half days to complete the job and after each day they cleaned up the property and removed all the garbage before leaving, you wouldn't know they were here if it wasn't for the big trailer in front of the house (which was also clean and well cared for not an eyesore). They cut all the old wood soffit that was under the solid aluminum soffit away and installed new breathable soffit and fascia that looks fantastic. I also have to say that the seamless trough and gutter guards work fanstastic. I have been through the fall and have not had to clear one clogged gutter and watched as the leaves simply blew over the gutters and allowed the water to flow in with no overflow, even through the big downpours we had this fall. It really worked flawlessly to the point that neighbours were asking me about it as they climbed ladders scooping black gunk from their plugged gutters. The whole system looks and works well together and since there is no bracket screws from the front, they are attached directly to fascia with screws every 8 inches through the back of trough and T-Rex system, it gives a sharp clean look from the ground.

If you are looking for a perfect meticulous job and want honesty when dealing with a contractor then Kovar Contracting with Jason and Alex are your best choice. Great work Alex and thank you so much!

The seal was gone with the old skylight. Jason quickly responded and came to assess and provided a quote. Work was booked quickly and within a couple days, the work was scheduled. His crew showed up on time, did a good job and left the site clean. Overall happy. Thanks to Jason and his crew!

Very good experience working with Jason (owner) & Alex (installer).

Sales process: Timely response on both the initial request for quote and the delivery of the quote. Did not persistently try to win our business, which was much appreciated.

Price: Not the priciest quote but not the cheapest either, for a job where quotes ranged from $5K to $12K (???).

Service: Alex was very easy going to work with, was punctual, delivered on time, answered our questions in a timely matter, gave us some good advice. Dealing with Jason was also worry-free from quote, to booking, to invoicing, to post-installation support. Small mix up on start date but nothing we couldn't manage.

Quality: The end result is very nice! There were a couple of minor misses that we noticed a couple of weeks after the job but the guys quickly addressed the issue, no questions asked.

From the estimate to the work to answering all my questions, the Kovar team were extremely professional, prompt, and helpful. This was a great stress relief to me, as I recently moved to the area and have no contacts established here. I was really impressed about the estimate actually as they were the only company out of almost a dozen I had contacted who came when promised, sent me a detailed, accurate estimate in writing, and were very accommodating and friendly in discussing it with me. They showed up as scheduled for the work, took care to be as clean as possible, and worked quickly and efficiently. I waited a bit before doing my review to experience some bad weather and everything has been absolutely perfect. I know who will be the first if not the only company I will call if I ever need similar work done again, because I know I can count on Kovar!

They completed the removal and installation of a new skylight quickly and for the price that they quoted. It has rained a lot since they installed the new skylight and the inside of our house is dry!

They arrived on time, listened to my needs and did a thoroughly professional job in a very timely manner.
