I saw Deck Space on Homestars and gave them a call. Gilad came and had a look, gave me some recommendations and agreed on a price.
Gilad was flexible to work around my available dates (and another contractor who was moving AC) and even worked with me on some last-minute design changes (we wanted a privacy screen). contacted Gilad for our new deck installation and set an appointment with him for a consultation. Gilad was on time for our set meeting and he gave us great ideas regarding our Deck Space area. After meeting with several other contractors we decided to hire Deck Space to construct our deck project. Gilad and his team did a great job; the installation was smooth, clean and on time. We needed to build side yard privacy fence and front porch railing quickly during winter season, before we found Gilad through Home Depot, we had called many deck companies and nobody was willing to even come for a quote. Gilad provided a very reasonable quote in a timely manner, and to our surprise, he even met with us in his workshop to answer our questions and show us the products he recommended. The project was completed on time and on budget, Gilad and his team were very professional and the workmanship was excellent. We were extremely pleased with the Trex railing Gilad recommended, and would highly recommend him to anyone. We definitely would use his team again for other projects in future!

We engaged Deck Space to replace our backyard deck (20 feet by 12 feet) and fences.

We received quotes from 3 companies. Deck Space outperformed the other companies in the manner in which they created and presented their quote. They took care to understand our requirements and the unique challenges associated with the limited access to our backyard to complete the work. They were clear about what was in (and out) of scope. They made the materials selection very easy, by having samples readily available to select from when they came to do the estimate. They offered suggestions to make our original ideas more cost effective.

Deck Space is a very reliable company. They did exactly what they said they would do, on the timeline that they had committed to, and for the price that they had quoted.

Athena, Gilad, Darcy, and the others were great to work with. They are all friendly, approachable and very professional. When we had questions about the job, they answered them with patience and thoroughness, taking time to ensure that they were addressing our issues completely. There was another vendor working on our property at the same time and they handled the communication with that vendor very well. They coordinated their work and the other vendor's, so that we did not have to worry about figuring how their respective schedules would impact each other.

The whole Deck Space team was very respectful of our property and of our neighbours' property. When they needed to bring supplies through our neighbours' yard and into ours, they laid tarps to ensure that there was absolutely no impact to the neighbours yard. They cleaned up the work site at the end of each day.

Working with Deck Space was a great experience. We love our new deck and fences, and looking forward to entertaining in the backyard. We highly recommend working with the Deck Space team.

Gilad came highly recommended through a friend who had used DeckSpace to build a deck and enclosure around her hot tub and was very happy with the final product. We had an elevated deck built for our main level walkout at the rear of our house spanning the width of our home. The project was completed on time and on budget and the final product is beautiful. We now have a safe and well built space to BBQ, dine and entertain our family guests for many years to come.

After calling Athena at Home Depot—and soliciting quotes from many other fencing specialists—Gilad and his team at Home Depot were the clear winners in terms of quality, timing and pricing (which was competitive). Because my backyard gives off into the middle of a shared alley used as a thoroughfare, it was going to be a tricky job, as I couldn't have a door that opened outward or inward; it had to slide like a gate. Gilad agreed to take the time to come to my house on a Saturday morning so that I could point out specific requests of my project in the actual backyard space...in fact other fencing companies said it was too big a job for such a small space! My request: build me a backyard sliding gate fence that will allow me to use one-half of my backyard as a parking pad for a car, and to keep the other half as a garden for growing. Other than stating my requests for functionality and height, I took a giant leap of faith and just trusted him to create something that looks amazing, aesthetically, and he did!

What I liked best about Gilad other than his designer vision was that during the process, when I took issue with one aspect of the locking mechanism that wasn’t as fully functional as I’d initially anticipated, he came and made it right by fixing it himself in a timely manner. I appreciated his professionalism as much as the final product.
