Roof / skylight replacement

Cant say enough good things about Max and his company Twin Peaks roofing. Max does his own quotes, keeps you updated on the job start date, starts on time, keeps you updated during the job, and does his own final inspection after the job is completed. We also replaced a challenging flat roof portion, replaced a skylight and replaced all eaves troughs and downspouts. None of this was an issue for Max and his teams, the work was professional and efficient. We are happy with the overall process and the end result. We highly recommend giving Twin Peaks a call.

Thanks Scott, your flat roof at the front porch was leaking because the last roofers didn't run the products up high enough up the sloped portion. During the ice build up/ melting process of the winter, water was forced to back up into the porch attic due to blockage from the the ice damn. We stripped to the old roof off, and re decked the flat roof to ensure a positive slope/sufficient surface for the new base layer of the flat roof to adhere to. It was also very important to install the animal proof vents and replace your existing skylight. Thanks for your business, you have been great customer !
Enjoy your new house

New shingls & all aluminum replaced

Max and his crew from Twin Peaks were phenomenal in that they were friendly, efficient and professional. The quotes I got were all high but close to one another for this job as it included high-end 35 year shingles, thicker than average aluminum for the flashing and valleys and upgraded high quality vents. Along with the roof, the soffits, fascia, eaves, troughs as well as capping for tops of my windows and doors were all replaced. Max came highly recommended from a trusted family friend and I was able to view his portfolio of work which helped ease my mind and to chose Twin Peaks. The work was completed as promised, including a couple free extras and on time! The team also did a very thorough job in cleaning up the massive mess that was created through the process. They cleaned up daily and the entire crew circled the house 3-4 times picking up the tiniest pieces of cut aluminum and stray nails after the job was completed. As a father of two young children, this last attention to detail impressed and was greatly appreciated. These guys were a class act from start to finish!

Thanks Alp! Your review means a lot to us. During our initial meeting and consultation, you stated that you preferred more of a higher grade shingle brand and you wished to optimize your attic's ventilation ability. You received this with the CertainTeed Landmark shingle and the Maximum ventilation system. We replaced the plywood where the other "static" vents once were and installed 2 '301' Maximum ventilators at the peak of your roof according to the manufacturers specifications. This allows your roof to breath during heavy snow falls and will create a much needed "chimney effect" during the hottest days of the year, pulling cooler air through the fully perforated soffits that we installed and will kick off an amazing circulation process. Also it was imperative for us to install proper bathroom fan vents, your previous vents had no flap therefor the hottest air in your home in the winter was freely exiting your home through your fans, causing your furnace to work more than needed.

Thanks again for your business and your time in writing this review! I think you made the right choices in the colour of your roof and aluminum!

New shingled room

Max stood out from the other roofing contractors by being more businesslike and professional from the start. His communication was good and he provided a detailed, competitive quote. Once he and his crew started the job they did excellent work and followed through until all details were looked after. I would not hesitate to recommend Twinpeaks Roofing.

Hi Ross, Thanks for the review. It is always best to call an experienced trades person to manage your particular project. It's not as easy as it looks and the overlooked details can lead to big problems down the road. I am glad we were able to address your roofing issues in the most economical fashion, and none the less leaving your home with protection from the elements for decades to come.

Roof Replacement

In the Fall 2018, Twinpeaks replaced my roof using Owens Corning Shingles. It did take a couple of months from the time I agreed to the quote to when the work began, however, they were efficient and did a great job. The workers provided attention to detail and ensured the property was clean of debris upon completion of the roof replacement. The owner (Max) completed a follow-up inspection to ensure the work was completed to my satisfaction.
I would recommend using Twinpeaks for your next roofing project.

Hi John,

Thanks for the review,Yes we installed the Owens Corning 'Tru defifination- Duration' shingle on your home. This product has an exclusively patented nailing strip call the 'sure nail' nailing strip. The intention behind this feature is to prevent 'Blow troughs', while using the roofing air nialer (this may typically happen more often in the extreme heat/colder temperatures during the roofing season). The sure-nail strip also provides a superior platform for the tar strip to adhere too. Although this product has only been available in Canada for limited number of years so far, i am confident this roof will last up to three decades for you.
Note- your roof and soffit ventilation is up to par, but wanted to remind you to consult a local insulation company as your insulation may have to be topped up to at least R50 (and baffled) as your home should be nearing 15 years old, and was built under the previous code. I have noticed a number of homes in you neighborhood with some attic condensation issues in the recent years.

Thanks again for your time and business !

Roof

Twin Peaks Roofing was a referral from several of our neighbours who were very pleased with the work they had done on their homes.
After our meeting with Max, we felt 100% confident in moving forward with the project.
The crew was efficient and left our property free of any debris. Upon completion, Max gave a final inspection. Based on the finished product, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Max and his team.
Thanks Max!

Shingle Replacement

Water was leaking in due to old, worn shingles so I called Twin Peaks for a quote and they provided a detailed and timely quote. Once the shingles were removed it uncovered significant moisture/mould damage to the plywood...Max called me right away to discuss his findings, as he did not want to just replace the shingles and run. The quote did allow for a few sheets of plywood but to do the job right they provided a few additional sheets at no extra cost. Thanks go out to Max and his crew for a job well done.

Hello Ian, your father was a real gentleman, and thanks for taking your time writing this review. Most home owners dont understand the importance of having optimal ventilation throughout your attic and roof and the importance of having sufficient insulation in your attic. A roof leak could very well spring up prematurely due to buckling/warped plywood caused by long term condensation build up in your attic in the winter, and overheating in the summer.
Dont hesitate to call us in the spring as your father stated he would like to get more work complete, and i can go in further detail in person.

Hi Sherene ! thanks for the kind words. Unfortunately you guys were one the unlucky ones that got affected by the windstorm in early May. but luckily we were able to help you out and give you a brand new roof before the winter. Your roof may have lasted 5-10 years longer than it did, but the last roofer did what we call an "over lay", which means they installed shingles on top of shingles. Other than the fact that they used a particular brand of shingles that has been known to have tar strip deficiencies, they also used 1-1/4 inch nails which will failed to go through the double laminate shingle, the old 3 tab shingles and then into the plywood in order for it to properly be fastened to the deck. Its unfortunate that you guys bought a home that had this pre existing issue waiting to happen. 90% of the time a home inspector will not got upon the roof nor would they have the knowledge to locate deficiencies and/or foresee future expenses relating to a lack luster installation before you take possession of your home.

The good news is you now have the color of choice which matches your red brick home and have a roof that will last the test of time with many upgrades in comparison the the previous one. We replaced all your wall/counter flashing with new steel steps and wrapped ice and water shield up the walls, this is important! with these new weather conditions that have been occurring through the past handful of years (snow then rain back to back) water has more of a tenancy to back up the roof slope at times, this will be the best defense. You also have steel valleys, complete synthetic paper and ice and water shield on the complete roof deck, also proper bathroom vents and animal proof attic vents. Not to mention 11000 lbs of garbage off you home!

Thanks for you business, and your patients after signing up, its been a busy year for us.

New shingles

I wanted to congratulate Twin Peaks Roofing on the wonderful job they did on our roof. The look of the finished product is great. What I Liked was how friendly, competent and responsible your team was in getting the job done. They cleaned up each day without destroying any plants or shrubs. All stuff was put away at the end of the day. Your quote was what we paid and you took the time to explain what was needed and why. I have no reservations about recommending you to anyone, in fact my neighbour is also interested in replacing their tired roof, I’ll have them call you!"

Cheers,

Thanks for your help in referring us to your friends and neighbors in north west glen abbey, it was a pleasure dealing with you. Great idea in choosing the Landmark PRO from Certainteed, its gives you a stronger warranty, and a more distinct look, when comparing to the other roof done on your street.

Roof

After one of the big summer storms, we discovered we had leak and our roof needed to be replaced. They were quick to come out and take a look - they even did a temporary repair that was causing the leak. They managed to squeeze us in several weeks later and had our roof replaced in one day. Probably a little pricier than some others but well worth it given the quality work/materials and superb service. Would definitely recommend them if you need roofing work done.

Thanks Gene, Our intention is to give our customers as much value as possible. the wind storm in May had caused us an alarming amount to work, so the least we could do is do a temporary repair so no water damage could occur while you choose a roofer to hire. I'm glad we were able to serve you.

Thanks Kathleen. We did a complete overhaul of you roof exterior. It was very important that we replaced your skylite as the wood as we discovered rotten plywood in the surrounding roof deck, it's the only way for us to warrant it against leaks etc. You recived a premium product in a certainties shingles, and we fully gutted all the flashing, chimney flashing etc. and wrapped the walls with ice and water shield to protect your home long term from ice build up/ freezing/ thawing cycles that have become more common in recent years. Your home is completely water tight from the exterior. One thing you do need is new eavestroughs, as you have 40 year old 4" troughs with small as down pipes. Upgrading to the 5 " troughs with alu-rex gutted guards along with the large 3x3 " down pipes water will travel more efficiently and keep it free of debris. We would also need to re arrange your downpipes as they are currently distributing all the water from the main house to one location in your back yard - this is the probable cause of your foundation issues !

hope to talk soon as I believe this in an imperative job that you need complete going forward.

thanks again for the business
