I hired Sam to do a complete renovation of a very large basement suite in an old house. The work included a new kitchen, two new bathrooms, new closets, new flooring and much more.
This was not a straight forward project as renovations in old houses like mine often come with surprises when walls are opened up. Sam handled the challenge exceptionally well and did a fantastic job, always able to deal with the unexpected issues that came up and always keeping me fully updated on progress. I always found him to be honest, reliable and easy to deal with and therefore can highly recommend him.

I hired Sam to replace our crumbing concrete front porch and railing . The work came in on time, on budget and the job site was kept very clean. From the start of the project to the end Sam continually update me on the progress. I was extremely pleased with the final product and recommend Sam for any renovation projects you may have.

Yes it's included all what Sam wrote and include some additional finishing such as shelves and lighting. After hearing so many horror stories about contractors it was refreshing to work with Sam. He is trustable, honest and do what he said and on time

Sam Bigelow was referred to us from a friend who also used him for a project on their home. Since my first contact with Sam Bigelow, he exceeded my expectations with his professionalism and consistent follow ups. He was really great with walking through the project, explaining all details of work that needed to be done and providing us with an email quote that was nicely drafted breaking down all expenses and supplies needed. Sams crew were amazing, we left them access to the house while at work and we had no issues, the crew also cleaned up after every day leaving no mess which was a great touch. Sams craftsmanship was impeccable, the washroom details were stunning. After completing our washroom renovation Sam has been our primary contractor, he has also done other work in the house including drywall and minor updates. If you are looking for a contractor who is trustworthy and delivers excellent results, Sam is your man!

Sam Bigelow built our backyard fence, and I was so happy with the job he did, that I got him back in to do a much needed bathroom renovation. His company did a great job, and I would highly recommend Bigelow Construction for many reasons.

First of all, Sam started off with a very detailed quote which included project description, costs, materials and timeline. Then before starting work, we both signed a contract agreeing to terms and prices. You hear a lot of scary stories about unscrupulous contractors and disaster renovations so I like all this legal stuff. It's a lot better than trust and a handshake. Bigelow Construction also gave me a warranty for defects in workmanship, covered for a period of 5 years from date of completion.

Work on the bathroom renovation included a partial gut job, leveling of floors, laying of new floor tile, new bathtub, sink vanity and toilet, new shower tiles, and some small finishing touches. The completed job was really beautiful. Eric and Curtis did much of the work. They were polite, trustworthy, meticulous, and tidy. The tiling work they did was of excellent quality. I had several different tiles for the bath/shower and they took a lot of care to get the pattern perfect. At the end of each day, they cleaned everything completely, which included vacuuming carpets. My stair carpet never looked so good.

Work was completed pretty much on time and within the price quoted. (This was true of the fence job as well). ). Work was of very high quality, and the end result is really great from both a functional and an aesthetic point of view. Price was also very reasonable. I bought the vanity, tub, toilet and tiles myself, which brought down the overall price. The total cost of the renovation was $7700, which includes my costs in purchasing those items, plus the amount paid to Bigelow Construction. If I had Sam acquire the tiles, tub, etc for me, then the total overall cost would have been higher.

I am writing this review about 4 months after completion, and there have been no issues with any of the work done, nor do I expect there to be any.

I would recommend Sam Bigelow and his company Bigelow Construction to anyone.

Sam, owner of Bigelow Construction, transformed a very rough top floor, semi-attic space into a wonderful little bedroom retreat for our teenager. Sam worked on drywalling, electricals and flooring. We feel the work was very well done and was completed within budget and on time with minimum disruption to the household. Having used Sam's services for several projects now, we notice that he is consistently organized, thorough, trustworthy and responsible. Very highly recommended.

Sam and his crew removed an old rotting deck on the second floor of our house and replaced it with a safe, beautiful and well-designed new deck in two days, on time and on budget. They were conscientious and nice, cleared up everything afterwards, built the deck ship-shape, all level and to code. Fantastic work!

We found Sam/Bigelow Construction to be highly competent and trustworthy. Sam assessed the work to be done, prepared a thorough quote and carried out the work in a professional manner. He stayed several steps ahead of the process by informing us of any issues and various solutions. Pricing was, we felt, very fair (unlike that sense of being taken advantage of, which is often how it feels when dealing with certain contractors). Bottom line: professional work at a reasonable cost. Highly recommended.

I was really happy with the work Sam did. He gave me a detailed quote breaking down the various costs, which I appreciated. The price on the quote was the final price -- no hidden costs. He started the job exactly when he said he would, and completed it on time. There was a fair bit of work pulling out the old fence and all the half dead ivy attached to it, but he worked tirelessly to get it done. He's a straight-forward, hard-working and honest guy and he built me exactly the fence I wanted. I totally recommend Bigelow Construction, even to my closest friends and family!

This was the second job that Bigelow Construction did for us. They removed the plaster and lathe from the exterior walls of a room, prepped the walls for sprayfoam insulation, re-did all the electrics, drywalled, replaced the baseboards and window trim, and painted.

We were very happy with Sam's team. Sam provided a detailed estimate, and a clear and credible revised quote when the scope of the work changed (we realized we had to replace all the knob and tube wiring). He and his crew showed up on time, worked hard, and cleaned up after themselves. The room looks great! We'd be happy to hire Sam again.
