Heeley Home Inspections

An absolutely awesome experience. Mike was punctual (even early!), extremely thorough and very patient in answering all of my questions. Nothing was skipped or glossed over in the inspection, he took his time an explained in detail both the strengths and weaknesses of the property. We received the finished report very quickly. The report was well organized and very detailed in its findings and recommendations; it will be useful to us for years to come. I would wholeheartedly recommend Heeley Home Inspections to anyone.

Mike Heeley at Heeley Inspections was referred to me by my realtor (Emily Cassolato) and I am so glad. Mike performed a home inspection for me in March and there are somethings that I would call out as 'above and beyond':

1) Mike took time to explain each area of the house we were inspecting and, especially useful to me as a newcomer to Canada, explained the differences between Scottish and Canadian systems / appliances.

2) Mike made sure I understood all of the constituent parts of the house as we walked around. Nothing was too simple or too complex to ask him and he was really clear in his answers without being condescending or frustrated by my lack of understanding.

3) He went above and beyond in advice too. He offered great advice on the best ways to service and maintain the fixtures, fittings and appliances in our new home.

Mike is a great guy - punctual, friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. Having Mike do this home inspection was by luck (through referral); the next one (or house project) I wouldn't hesitate to use Mike because he really knows his stuff.

My wife and I just recently just purchased an income property and had Mike do the inspection. We have had home inspections done before but nothing like this. WOW! He was punctual and very thorough! He went through everything w a fine tooth comb, from the roof to the attic to even the foundation. He ended up saving us thousands in the long run. We just bought our first home and we contacted Mike for our home inspection. He responded very quickly to my e-mail and was very accommodating to our busy schedule. Mike arrived early to our appointment and not only was he professional and very knowledgeable he was personable and took the time to explain what he was looking for a point out a lot of great tips for us a first time home owners.
He took the time to promptly e-mail a list of our concerns to our realtor as we were meeting with the seller right after. Within a couple hours of completing our inspection, Mike e-mailed the full report to us, with pictures and detailed information.
Mike was a pleasure to work with and we will be recommending him to friends and family who will be buying homes in the near future.

My husband and I just bought our first home and Mike completed our home inspection.
Just like for all of the previous reviewers, Mike arrived early and had completed the exterior inspection before we arrived. It was a cold day so it was nice that he just took us to what we needed to see.
Being first time home buyers we didn't know much about what to look for, so it was great that Mike took the time to explain everything in detail. In addition, he gave us lots of tips on how to care for our home and what to watch for in the future.
After the inspection, we sent a follow up question to the sellers regarding one of the issues Mike had found. Then based on their response, Mike helped us determine what needed to be done to correct the issue.
Overall, he was great to work with and I would recommend him to friends and family in the future.

Mike arrived early and was already examining the roof when my wife and I arrived on site. Mike was thorough and methodical, yet personable and sensitive to our knowledge-levels on the more technical aspects of various utilities, etc. Upon completion of his review, he kept perspective in assessing and documenting shortfalls in the various aspects of the building requiring maintenance (immediate vs longer-term "watch-list" action items) . He followed up within hours with a 20+ page report (illustrated) documenting the results of his inspection and recommendations.
I cannot recommend Mike to my MOTHER who has been dead for 12 years, but would recommend him highly for people who have a need for a competent (retail) building inspector.

We had a custom home built and our son suggested that we hire Mike Heeley to attend the final inspection with us. We had never considered needing a professional inspector on a new home but we sure are glad that we hired Mike.

Mike was already at the house doing an exterior inspection when we arrived for our appointment. He walked us around both inside and out and showed us the deficiencies and things that were incomplete. He explained in layman's terms what we need to be concerned about and what we needed to have changed. Our builder was impressed with Mike's knowledge and professionalism. Mike is an excellent communicator and the builder accepted Mike's findings without apprehension.

We would never have known to look for some of the things that Mike checked out for us. We highly recommend that anyone closing on a new home, have Mike complete their final inspection. It was money well spent for us.

Mike was there 45 minutes early so he could complete the cold/outside inspection before I arrived and had to freeze!

The report was detailed, easy to read, and categorized by section….simple stuff even for a young first time home buyer like myself! It was a great tool to show the sellers so I could re-work my closing offer.

Mike has a talent for answering all my (tons of) questions while remaining focused and not missing a crack, cranny, or attic hatch! He took pictures of everything and even took the time to explain how I could fix a tap on my own.

Of all the home inspectors I have worked with in the past, Mike is the most knowledgeable and professional person there is. Mike walked us thru the entire house and explained the in and out of every little thing. He found a ton of little things and couple of major issues in the house. Once the major issues were fixed, Mike came back to verify they were fixed properly. Mike is the number one guy in my list now.

I had to get a home inspection for a live in/investment property. As a first time buyer with limited knowledge of homes and what to look for mike was great. He took me through each component of the house and explained how and when things should be fixed and why. When a slightly more then minor problem did arise he was nice enough to recomend a qualified profesional that came and provided the same quality of service. I would recommend mike to anyone in need of a home inspection as you truly get what you pay for.
