Dave and Alex were wonderful to work with from beginning to end. During the initial phase Dave was very informative and he was willing to provide us with several estimates for different brands of windows. Once we picked the brand, he provided us with several more estimates as we finalized style and design. They also worked with us to come up with a solution for replacing an old 8 foot bowed window that was made up of individual glass. They offered a solution that would allow them to use standard sized windows with some custom framing vs. having to order a custom made window which would have been extremely expensive. As with any home improvement projects you are bound to run into some issues and when we ran into those they were quick to respond and with the attitude that they were going to take care of it and everything would be done to my satisfaction and it was. We are considering using Windows by installer for some other projects that we need to have completed in the very near future.

Hands down the best experience I have had dealing with any kind of contractor!!!! I found these guys on Homestars, called them and the very same day they were at my house to give me an estimate, at first my plan was to do only 2 windows, and thankfully the job wasn’t too small, and after meeting Oleg and got his price I decided to do 6 total windows! I figured when u get a good guy you gotta hang on!
They showed up right on time the day of installation they were super thorough and spotlessly clean, they were a pleasure to have in my home and were done in a flash! Within a couple hours my home was transformed with my beautiful new windows!

David and his crew installed a total of 12 replacement windows in our home. He was great with communication; there when he promised; fulfilled everything in the contract without question. He did a great job of cleaning up, as well. Windows by Installer was great on this job. We are very happy with the final result. They replaced original sash windows with new Window City vinyl windows. What a HUGE difference - not only in looks, but in sound isolation and weatherproofing. They repaired all of the sills, etc. that were damaged and did a great job of that. They were there every day as promised. There was not a single issue with the whole job. This company was great with working out payments as well. Highly recommended.

Windows by Installer installed 7 new windows in our house: a kitchen 2-light slider and a frosted bath awning in our downstairs rental apartment, and 5 basement hopper-style windows in the basement. They also replaced some of the windowsills in the basement that had rotted away.
I made an appointment with Alex of Windows by Installer to come give an estimate, but due to a scheduling error, he didn't show up. But he apologized so sincerely and so profusely that I was pretty sure this kind of mistake was unusual for them. Now that they has finished the work on our windows, I'm completely confident about that, because they did a professional job from top to bottom.
Background: The kitchen and bath windows in our downstairs rental apartment were old and rusted/stuck in place and could not be opened at all. The windows in the basement were original to the house and literally rotting out of their frames. Some of the sills down there were almost completely rotted away, and I could see light around the window frames! We replaced a 3-part window (2 casements and a picture) in the kitchen with a 2-light slider, replaced the bathroom awning window with a frosted awning window, and replaced the basement inward-opening awning windows with hopper windows.
The estimate: Once we rescheduled for the estimate, Oleg showed up right on time and was courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. He explained the window options without talking down to me or giving me any sales pitches/pressure. I had the estimate within 2 days, and it was literally less than half what I'd been quoted by another window company.
The timing: Our windows arrived early, so they did our work early! We did not expect to have new windows until early September, but the work was completed almost 2 weeks sooner than we expected.
The installation: The guys arrived on time and got to work immediately. They were very professional and conscientious, carefully putting covers over the work surfaces before they started. They were also super efficient: they arrived at about 7:30 and were done by noon! The cleanup: Oleg had described their cleanup process as "We clean up like we were never there," and he did not exaggerate. After the guys had installed the kitchen and bathroom windows, I peeked in when I thought they were done to take a look. They had cleaned up pretty well, but there was still a little grit on the tub and around the window frame. I thought, "No problem--that's way cleaner than I expected, and I'll just clean out the tub after they're gone." But they actually hadn't finished cleaning up. 10 minutes later, I peeked back into the bathroom and the tub and window area were spotless--no dust or grit at all. They also hauled away all the old windows.
Overall: Windows by Installer did a fantastic job at a very reasonable (actually, a fantastic and affordable) price. They did just what they said they would do and were on time, on budget, professional, capable, and friendly to boot. I highly recommend them and will call them again next time I need more windows replaced.

David was prompt to return initial phone calls, and came out for
an estimate in a week. No pressure or hard sale. He provided us with information and personal recommendations without all the sales hype we all have grown to dread. After deciding to go ahead with the work, he provided us with a written estimate and a time frame. Both the time frame and estimate were exact and upheld. He and his team replaced 10 windows within 4 hours and left our home spotless and as they found it. David was professional and friendly all throughout the process, and his team was respectful of our home. I would recommend his company to my closest
friends and family.

Alex was terrific to work with. Upfront he gave me great ideas on what types of windows to use. He was wonderful in suggesting that I do not replace quite as many windows as I had originally expected (he said some of the ones I was considering replacing did not need it - can you imagine?) He ordered exactly what we agreed on. Showed up the day we had arranged at 7am as requested. By mid-day the job was done and completely cleaned up. He touched up the windows beyond what we had agreed to in our contract. From start to finish, very professional, and a very nice guy to boot. Would definitely call Alex and his guys again for a window or door project.

We had a large number of drafty, old wood windows (with storm windows) and wanted to get them replaced to make the house warmer and improve the ease of opening/closing. Dave came out to give an estimate. He was good to work with from the start - he made helpful suggestions, and I appreciate that he didn't try to up-sell. He also noticed a vinyl window in the attic that was slightly off its track, and on the spot gave a go of trying to get it aligned, which I thought was pretty nice. Once we ordered the windows, it took about 4-5 weeks for the windows to come in. This is not specific to WBI, is fairly consistent with what others have said here on Homestars, and is just something to keep in mind when getting windows ordered/installed.
Once the windows were in, we set up the installation date for a warm day at this time of year. Dave was away, but his partner Alex came with the crew and did a terrific job. I had read the reviews that their team is very careful and cleans up well, and I'm happy to say that it's true. Alex was very responsive and seemed to care that things went smoothly for us. We have a newborn baby and they were considerate in taking that into account (trying to get the finished attic done first so we could have a safe, warm area for the baby). Impressively, for 13 windows, it took from around 7:50am to perhaps 2 or 3pm, including a few areas that required special consideration. The new windows look and operate great, and we're already feeling a difference in warmth in the house.
After the installation, Dave followed up via email to make sure we were happy with the windows and the installation. I mentioned that we noticed a few very small areas where the caulking had some minor gaps, and he came right out and made sure it was all taken care of. I do believe that he stands behind WBI's work. I should also mention that he accommodated our schedules by coming out early in the morning before we left for work, which was very helpful.

These guys were great. The estimate was in the ballpark of the best estimates we received. They scheduled the installation and did it as promised. They had a crew of about 5? people, including the two owners, Dave and Alex. They were here by 7:30 and finished by 2, as promised. All of their people were very courteous. They protected our furniture so that it wouldn't get covered with dust and dirt. The work was done well. The windows look and work well. They touched up the paint. I would highly recommend them and would use them again.

Windows By Installer are fabulous to work with. A number of owners in my condo association got together, interviewed several recommended contractors, and found them to be the most professional in providing accurate estimates. Their estimates were neither the cheapest nor the most expensive, but they stayed true to what they had quoted. They gave excellent explanations of what was involved in replacing windows and great advice about the various choices available. When they came to do the work, they were in and out of my unit in one day, leaving all the furniture back where it started, and cleaning up thoroughly. The windows work great -- there used to be lots of cold air leaks around my windows in the winter, but last winter there were none. Plus they advised us all on how to get the energy rebate that was available for installing more energy-efficient windows, gave us the required documentation, and saved us money on our taxes. The other owners who used them all seem equally please with their work.

Oleg Debrov and his crew installed double-paned window inserts, replacing 20 old, drafty and deteriorating double-hung windows and 5 basement windows. With 5 people, they replaced all windows in one day, including clean-up of all of the debris. I knew I would need to paint some of the woodwork after their work, but I actually expected there to be MORE damage - mouldings had to be removed from each window in order to install the new windows within the old frames. I figured some of the old wood would not make it through the process intact, but it did because they're skilled. And because they filled the cracks with caulking, my old woodwork looks better than it did before they started. They also replaced 3 window sills with wider ones at my request.
