I was very happy with the service Martin provided. He returned my message promptly and we were able to set up an appointment within a short number of days. He was able to resolve the issue on the spot and I felt what he charged was very reasonable. I will certainly give Martin a call again if need be and would definitely recommend Great Dane Electric to my family and friends.

We were replacing our garage door openers with jackshaft models. As a result we needed the power outlets moved in proximity of the new openers. Great Dane did a good and neat job. We had some minor scheduling issues due to weather and the such. But overall a good experience. Thanks Martin!

My house was struck by lightning and one of the electrical outlets was damaged, along with some lights installed in the cupboards. Martin came out very quickly (called on Sunday and he was there Monday) to look. My insurance company ended up bringing in another electrician to do the work, but what a great guy. He didn't even charge me for his time. Would definitely hire him in the future.

We had recently purchased a 2 bedroom home and wanted it to be converted to a 3 bedroom home prior to move-in (i.e. we were splitting a bedroom into 2). We required this work to be done very quickly - Martin worked around the general contractors schedule (which kept changing) and was able to complete the work without any issues - on time and budget. It was completed in a very professional manner.

Martin and his team were a very reasonable cost and on time, very friendly and efficent. They left the place spotless too which was much appreciated! My house was apparently not grounded and many of the plugs were not as well. They fixed everything and brought it all up to code.

I hired Great Dane Electric because they won the Best of Award this year. I was really happy they were able to help me out with some minor electrical work that I have been needing done. I wanted to have a chandelier moved from one room to another and basically take the light from the other room and put it where the chandelier was. Sounds easy but not really! Anyways, was glad that they could help me out even though it was a small job. They came on time and got the job done!

Based on the great reviews on Homestars, I contacted Martin of Great Dane Electrical to do some electrical work on my home. We had fittings installed in several rooms and also changed out the range hood. On the appointed day the work was supposed to start, Martin did not show up - very disappointing considering that I took a day off work so I could be home. When the work was eventually finished, some reworking was needed. One light fitting needed to be adjusted and the range hood has been blowing the kitchen circuit. Called Great Dane Electric several times and we agreed on appointment times. It's now been 3 months and over 4 different appointments where they failed to show up. I would not use or recommend this service.

Went to homestars.ca and located Martin with great reviews so decided to call and give him a try. He was able to provide service in a prompt efficient manner at a reasonable rate. We like him and will call him again as needed!

Based on reviews here I rolled the dice and called Martin. I was replacing a kitchen light fixture with track lighting but found the wires to be damaged and was concerned about that and had a few other electrical questions about this house (bought it two years ago). So I called in the professionals. Martin troubleshot over the phone on our first call and sent Paul over the next afternoon. They both answered my questions, which i had a lot of. Paul did a good job on the fixture install and Martin did lots of follow up. He even called enmax and got some information and documents for me. I really appreciated the help and customer service. Next time i run into problems or have questions I'm calling Martin again.

UPDATED December 8, 2014. Our original review of Great Dane was 10/10 very happy. Based on that we tried to use them again. First contacted them in early September 2014 for an estimate - took forever to get one. Finally got one in late October. Price was reasonable but getting any kind of firm commitment on when the work would be done was next to impossible. Finally at the end of November we had work dates of December 5 and 8. Morning of Dec 5 we get a text from Martin saying he had to look after his son who had the day off school. He "might" show up that afternoon to "scope the job". Morning of December 8 we get an email saying that he is too busy to come and could he come on December 17.

Here is a though Martin, when you need to cancel at the last minute have the courtesy to make a PHONE CALL instead of hiding behind email and texts.

If you like contractors who can only use a phone to email or text customers Martin is your guy. If you like contractors who place no value your time Martin is your guy.

Needed new circuits installed in the unfinished part of the basement. Martin came out and evaluated project and provided some suggestion to improve what we wanted. Work was completed within 2 weeks of the initial contact with Martin. Paul who did the work did an excellent job and left the area in a very clean condition. Would definitely recommend both Martin and Paul. We may have future projects upcoming and Great Dane will be our first called.
