My mom organized this for us since we were moving provinces as newlywed students with no money. The first problem was that the woman on the phone REFUSED to believe my mom when she said we had a lot of stuff. The movers showed up and had no idea that we owned a sofa or a huge fish tank despite us warning the company and they thought we'd only have 2000lbs of stuff. After it was packed they estimated 4000lbs.
The movers themselves were great. loved them.
But trouble started a week later when they were supposed to drop it off. Half our stuff showed up and they were late and nobody told us till we asked where it was. They said a truck stalled but nobody called to let us know. We had to call the company that afternoon. So the delivery day was sunday and they said "oh...we had a stalled truck on the way and it'll be there thursday. We'll call you wednesday to schedule. Wednesday comes and goes and I call thursday morning. The woman had no idea what I was going on about and they said it'd be there friday at 2. I called friday morning to confirm they were coming and they were surprised again and said they'd be there at 5. Nobody shows up. They did show up Saturday but that was after some frantic phone messeges we left. Some boxes marked fragile were upside down and dented. The weight they claimed was 5820 and frankly there was NO WAY we could have fit that much stuff into 750 square feet in the first place. My mom negotiated the price down and we suspect she sent an email that got them to deliver on Saturday instead of leaving us till the next week. They only called twice and only to say they were lost and NEVER when they promised they would. There were alarm bells when the first call asked us whether we were in Saskatchewan.
And the kicker was that we moved from new westminster to edmonton and they said all our possessions would come to Edmonton (6 days before we flew here), stay in storage and be delivered. somehow a week after the delivery date our stuff was trapped between golden and Calgary.
I suspect we were "deliberately misled" on several points. Our job hunt was delayed by a week and we were most definitely tricked about the weight. We ran out of clothes and our family had to step in to make sure we had food because the extra time and cost of the move stretched our budget.

As great as the guys who came and moved our stuff were the administration is a gong show and I suspect they're deliberately shady and not just poorly organized.

Would NOT recommend. Please PLEASE don't use these guys :(

I appreciate to my friend for recommending this company to me. Because of my job i move once or twice a year and this time my move was from Vernon to Markham. And the first time with no problems since the beginning till the end and no headache :) I am absolutely going to move with this company next year again. Thanks Lisa

The management, organization and communication in this company are a disaster. They forgot I had rescheduled my pick-up way in advance, the quote from the estimator was not accessible to the delivery crew, I was not informed in time that my shipment was delayed, and had to pay unexpected charges for use of credit card upon delivery. None of these issues have been addressed after I sent in a claim/feedback over two months ago.

THIS COMPANY MANAGED TO LOSE A MATTRESS DURING A MOVE FROM ONT TO SASK. TRIED TO GET US TO ACCEPT ANOTHER USED MATTRESS FROM SOMEONE ELSE! THEY REFUSE TO COMPENSATE US. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!

worst mistake ever! quoted one price, more than tripled upon delivery which was late. Requested to accompany to weigh scale to verify weight but they wanted $800 dollars more on top of the almost $6000 bill that was supposed to be only about $1485. Stay away from them.

MY son Ian Philip moved from Montreal to Edmonton via Vega Van lines. On arrival the furniture was held in storage at Canada Wide Moving and Storage for seven months so that Ian could take his time to look around before he purchased a suitable Condo. During the interim he was always in contact with Canada Wide and they with him. He finally purchase a Condo. He communicated with them to set up delivery. They we very professional in this matter. Both Eric and Gabrilla were very cooperative and accessible at all times. Delivery set up and took place on Saturday April 20, 2103. They arrived at the appointed time. They were very efficient and had all the furniture in the chosen place. They were very careful to protect the hardwood flooring covering them with blankets. There was a damaged to a piece of the stereo speakers which Eric took pictures of to e-mail to Vega Van Lines . He contacted me on Monday April 22, 2013 that he has spoken on my behalf to Vega Vine lines to inform them of the damage. He give me the contact phone number for future reference. Eric was very helpful and so professional and went beyond the call of duty to make the move very comforting. Would highly recommend this company to any one and every one for moving and storage. They were very timely, punctual and a comparatively reasonable price for such services.

Overall my experience with this company is very good, and from my experience everybody has something to learn.
The company showed a very quick initial response to my request for quote, and was very flexible and polite.
At pickup I was offered the option to get extra packing for my large TV, I asked if it is mandatory, the answer was no, so I declined the offer.
During transportation my TV was badly damaged.
After delivery I realized that the contract had no provision for compensation for such an incident, once I declined the option for extra packing. Still I made a claim, customer support was excellent, and accepted to pay $500 for the damaged TV above the contract stipulations and above the contract deductible.
Also the company was very quick to accept that I was charged $100 in excess, and agreed immediately to return that as well.
Now in short here are the lessons we home owners learn:
- accept and even require extra packing for all fragile items like TV, don't rely on the default blankets
- if an accident happens, make a claim with the company and wait for completion before going to BBB and here
And here are the lessons the company has to learn:
- require extra packing for fragile items like a large TV, don't make it optional.
- explain clearly to clients that default blankets are not meant to be used for fragile items, what the consequences would be if the items are transported without extra packing
