From the beginning, I was very impressed with their personable approach and friendliness. They were knowledgeable and gave me valuable advice on style, materials, and overall design. A true family-run business, I had the pleasure of meeting Alex and his sons Adam and Jason, who also offered great advice and played soccer with my son while we talked business. An excellent job and I will definitely call on them again for future projects!

We needed a new window to replace the original 70 year old kitchen window. It was a big job but was done beautifully. Adam was adamant that I call if I have any problems/concerns about it and followed up to make sure we were happy. I will definitely call Grand for any other work I need done. It was installed within 2 weeks exactly when indicated it would be and the price was appropriate for the size and difficulty of the installation.

I have nothing but positive feedback for Grand Building and Contracting Ltd. I mostly dealt with Adam. He was very attentive to all of my concerns. He was available to answer my questions, even when I called him outside of business hours. The most impressive thing is that the quote the company gives you is the actual price that you will end up paying! The quality of workmanship was outstanding. The company uses very professional subcontractors and high-quality materials. They do the work and only then ask you to pay for it, which shows you that they are well capitalized and not one of those "shady" operators. Overall, everybody I dealt with was trustworthy, caring and very honest. I hired Grand Building and Contracting again to do the second stage of my basement renovations. I highly recommend the company! They have been a pleasure to deal with.

I've used Grand 3 times. This is a family company and they really care about their customers. What I like most is that they follow up their work to ensure quality. When my patio door leaked, the family came to see it, then the installers came, then the door manufacturer came (it was a manufacturing defect). The bathroom reno was a 10-day job and we enjoy the result. Even though there were some challenges, Grand worked with us to ensure the price did not increase. Tip: precisely define and cost all materials and fixtures in the contract.

We had a great experience with this company. The first job required many consultations, some design and excellent execution - all accomplished. The second job was equally good. Particularly liked the fact that issues/questions could be discussed openly and worked out. Really good customer service. Would recommend, and would use again.

Very fast response to my inquiry, easy to get an appointment for a quote. Alex arrived on time to the meeting, provided a detailed proposal and set very accurate expectations as to timing and duration. Work crews for waterproofing and slate installation very diligent about clean up. One minor issue with the railing contractor as they did not do a thorough clean up. Called Jason and within an hour both Jason and Alex were on site, and completed the clean up themselves. They both apologized and were very clear that this sort of thing should never happen with their skilled trades people. I would not want to be the installer after Alex spoke to him. Grand Building and Contracting did not seem at all happy with how the job site was left. Jason was on site pretty much every day that work was being performed and provided regular updates on schedule and progress. Overall, I would rate this company excellent for client service, quality of workmanship, communication, followup, and attention to detail. I would use this company in a second for subsequent projects.
This company may be slightly more expensive than some others, but they do quality work, they meet their promises and commitments, and they keep you very well informed along the way. These qualities are not all that common in my experience.
