Tilestars

As part of a major kitchen reno I needed a tiler. Based on the rave reviews, I chose Tilestars. I am very glad I did. Right from his initial visit to view the project, he proved to be a great resource. He suggested a larger tile size that I had not considered, and I am so glad he did. Now that the tiles are laid, I love the large format. Dmitri took his time during the first visit to gain a full understanding of the project and what I expected. I explained to him that I would be installing radiant hydronic heating using the Schluter Bekotec system. This system requires that drypack be installed over the Bekotec and Pex tubing before the tiling can be laid. He told me that he had a very good drypack installer and that his work would be included in the price quote. Dmitri provided a detailed quote which was competitive.
My project kept being delayed and Dimitri was very accommodating in rescheduling his work. On the agreed date, Dmitri attended to explain to the drypack installer the Bekotec specification for the thickness, and that I wanted the floor to be levelled (135 year old Victorian town house). Later in the day he attended to make sure it had been done to his satisfaction. After the drypack had cured, Dmitri attended on a Saturday to install the Ditra membrane so that the tiling could proceed the following week. He attended as scheduled on the appointed date, and installed the tiles over 2 days. His suggestions as to the grout colour were spot on as well. After the grouting he washed the tiles a number of times to ensure they looked the same as when they came out of the box. He also fully cleaned up the site.
Dmitri's work is superb. I couldn't be happier. He is a true professional and very pleasant to deal with. I will have him back to install the backsplash. I highly recommend him.

We have now used Dimitry for two jobs at two different houses, one a basement bathroom and laundry room and one a kitchen backsplash. Very pleased with service and quality and recommendations on design/tile. Will use him again in future.

Dimitri well exceeded our expectations. From the second we met him we knew he was going to be great. He was always prompt and even text to let us know when he was on his way, which we really appreciated. He was incredibly respectful of our home, putting down heavy duty paper on our floors and then tarps over that making sure absolutely everything was protected! The tiles we chose for our shower were not easy to install as they were very large and heavy. Our house is quite old, so our floor and ceiling are uneven making tiling incredible difficult, but this was no challenge for Dimitri. He made a difficult job look effortless and absolutely gorgeous. We are so in love with our shower and we're so grateful to Dimitri for his incredible work. We can't wait to have him back to do our next bathroom!!

We recently needed to hire a tile installer to make our laundry room floor more solid and waterproof and to install tile. After reading all of the great reviews for Tilestars (Dmitri), we decide to give them a chance. We are very happy that we did. Dmitri worked extremely hard to ensure that all of the work was done right and within as short of time as possible. Dmitri, was very punctual and took the time to explain what he was going to do and was very thoughtful of our situation as we have a baby on the way. We will definitely use Dmitri for our future tile projects and have no problem recommending his service. Tile floor -kitchen/hallway/bath/laundry. Kitchen floor was trouble, it was unlevel, over a heat duct that leaked and caused the dry pack leveler to heave. Dmitri and his team repaired and sealed the cracks, used proper Ditra under the tiles and laid the new floor beautifully. Dmitri and his team were very professional and more importantly very clean during the job and after. Really appreciated the follow up call as well weeks later to see if any issues had come up.

Since then, we have also had Dmitri back to remove and repair tiles damaged in a flood. He and his crew were able to cut out the affected tiles, replace and match existing grout/floor. It was done very well and at a fraction of the cost to replace the whole floor.

Dmitri's prices are comparable to most but the quality of his work definitely make Tilestars worth it. He really stands behind his work and I would highly recommend them.

Dmitri provides the complete package. He has a pleasant demeanour, keen attention to detail, excellent tile laying craftsmanship and a strong commitment to protect homeowner’s property (He laid down protective construction paper in the driveway where he was cutting tiles!). Last but certainly not least, he has established relationships with large tile retailers that offer his customers substantial discounts on tiles.

Dmitri previously installed tiles in our upstairs kitchen. He did a great job with the flooring and backsplash. We decided to renovate our basement bathroom and because we have absolute trust in Dmitri's work, we had to call him back. He is a perfectionist in his work and did a wonderful job in installing the shower, bathroom floor and wall tiles. He made some recommendations that we appreciated. He is reliable and lets you know when he is on his way to start the work. He also follows up each day to make sure you are happy.

Dimitri did such a great job on our last shower stall job that we called him back to do our backsplash. He was very professional, on time and got the job done flawlessly in the time he specified. I would recommend him if you want a perfect job!

Dmitri did an amazing job of redoing our kitchen backsplash. Our previous contractor had done a terrible job and we needed someone to completely gut the backsplash and start over (including removal of previous tiles, installation of new drywall, and installation of new tiles). Dmitri was extremely responsive and tidy, and the finished product was exactly what we wanted. He truly cares about providing exceptional customer service. We highly recommend hiring him if you want someone who is easy to deal with and will get the job done without any problems whatsoever.
