When a selling realtor seems upset at your selection of a Home Inspector, you know you're on the right track. Don was fantastic. He made my wife and I feel incredibly comfortable. Excellent knowledge. The best part. I've called him on two occasions for general home related questions and on one occassion he drove out to my house and educated me on a electrical question I had. Talk about customer relation. What an awsome person. He's always a call away and really takes his time to explain details during the inspection. The package he provides is also great. Homestars is a great website! The appointment with Don from Peace of Mind was within a couple of days after calling him. This home inspection was a little different because my elderly parents were hoping to stay in their current home for another 10 years and I wanted them to know what they were faced with in regards to home repairs and the current condition of their home. Don was prompt, courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. He methodically went through his inspection and provided a detail report. He even identified items that posed potential hazards to their health (i.e. P-trap missing, potential moisture problem leading to mold, etc.). I would recommend him for this type of job.

Short story: Don is the best! It has taken us a while to get this review up as we have been so busy acting on all the recommendations Don gave us. :) As a former contractor and a very experienced home inspector he knows what he is talking about! He doesn’t pull any punches, yet doesn’t give the bad news any doom and gloom drama. He gives you the facts, straight up. We purchased a home this summer and wanted to have a thorough inspection, just to know all the little (and big) things that we needed to have on our to-do list. Don arrived exactly when he said he would, and proceeded to spend about 5 hours inspecting our approx. 800 sq. ft. bungalow with basement. He was extraordinarily thorough and extremely knowledgeable. Generous, too – he pointed out that our neighbours had a gas leak at their meter. When we told them later they were so thankful. Don didn’t need to mention it – he just smelled it while walking by – what a good guy. He didn’t (seem to!) mind me tagging along and asking questions the whole time he was doing his work, and he gave us so much information about our house. He also gave us many referrals for various contractors and maintenance companies, all of whom have been great to deal with thus far. I very highly recommend Don and Peace of Mind Home Inspections to anyone needing a home inspection done.

I had already purchased the home, but wanted a home inspection done after closing for my own peace of mind- no pun intended! I contacted Don on the recommendation of a friend. I was not disappointed. He was honest, thorough, took his time, answered my questions, and walked me through the photos he took which he gave me on a disc.
