NEW EAVESTROUGH

Excellent service from the beginning of getting our quote right through to the receiving the bill. This company did a wonderful job installing a new eavestrough on our home and they were very easy to deal with. We had to have some extra work done on some removal of rot on our car port. Bronson Johnson fixed the rotten area and did the extra work very smoothly and within a reasonable cost. We dealt with one of the owners Fabien, who we found to be very pleasant and conscientious. Such a wonderful trait to experience these days.

Best in the business!

Fabien and his crew were very professional from quote to execution for our end unit townhouse. They are responsive and deliver excellent customer service. We liked that they explain the process of eavestrough and drainpipes and use a much better quality material than competitors. There is a noticeable difference when you compare to the neighbouring townhomes. We much prefer the colour selection that they recommended and the 20 year warranty is great to have for future resale. They are worth the extra dollars. Highly recommend.

A great review for us, thank you. It is best, we think, if the homeowner and crew are on the same page so discussing items between us may take some time but it is time well used.

Enjoy the rest of the summer

Beautiful new eavestrophing

We were extremely happy with the removal and replacement of our eavestrophing. Fabian and his team are quick, efficient, trustworthy and most of all took great care not to disturb anything in our back garden nor to leave any scraps behind. Much appreciated and I would highly recommend this company based on fair price and fast, friendly service.

eavestroughs change ignoring problem with fascia

I hired Bronson Johnson to replace the eavestroughs and downspouts back in May 2017. The house being an old house (built in 1933), they told me that if they encounter rotted wood, there will be additional cost to replace it. I agreed and they came and did the job in June 2017. After they finished, they told me there was no rotted wood, so I paid and everybody happily went their way. I am no specialist, but in my opinion they did a great job and the coming fall I could see that there were no more any spots where the rain water would splash down instead of going through the eavestroughs and spouts (as it was before the replacement).
I did not have any problems since then, up to this early spring, when birds started gathering repeatedly at one corner of the house, which is just above the master bedroom. At first, I thought the leaf screen came loose and they entered the eavestrough. I called Bronson Johnson but they told me it is unlikely birds could make a hole in the leaf screen. They said they will come to take a look and, if there is indeed a problem, they will fix it for free. But that if there is something not due to the eavestroughs, they will charge me $200. So I said no and, instead, called an animal control company, which was very helpful before. They came and discovered that the fascia board is too narrow and does not come up to meet the roof. There is an opening all around the house between the top of the fascia board and the roof. The widest opening is probably in this corner and this is why the birds entered here: see attached photo.
This problem with the fascia must have been there since forever. I do not know why birds or other animals did not find the hole and entered the soffit space before. My question is how is it possible that Bronson Johnson did the job back in 2017, removing the old eavestroughs, installing new eavestroughs and leaf screen and never discovered the gaping hole above the fascia boards. They even told me after they finished that the fascia was good and did not need replacing.
After finding this, I contacted them again and explained the situation. They came and, after climbing up there and confirming my claim, they said they will come and remove all eavestroughs, store them in my backyard and come and install them back on after I have somebody else replacing the fascia boards. I said I will of course pay for the extra work and materials to replace the fascia, but they said they do not do that. How is it that back in 2017 they offered to do it if needed (if they found any rotted wood) and now they cannot do it? Because I want to make sure the job is done properly this time, I had to hire another eavestroughing company, but they are so busy they will only be able to come sometime in September. And, of course, I will pay again to replace the eavestroughs.

Peter,
I can not remember back to 2017 and particular conversations we had between us....but I can not see myself, one of the co-owners (who was onsite for the installation) not informing you of the gap. As you state "the problem with the fascia must have been there since forever" and thus never addressed at any point, with various shingle and eavestrough replacement completed over the years. I stand by that the fascia boards were not rotted as the eavestroughs are to this day still firmly attached to the home. When I returned at your request and investigated, I informed you that the work required to correct the issue was best completed by a firm within their scope of work. I stand by my offer of removing the current eavestroughs.

regards,

Fabien

Removal of old eavestroughs and installation of new seamless eavestroughs on an old house

Bronson Johnson removed the old eavestroughs on our 93 year-old house this past spring, a job that required tearing down and rebuilding the fascia that was for a different size eavestrough. Mike and Adam were professional, kept us well informed of what they were doing and why, explained our options well -- were generally excellent. They really shone after the job was done, though, when water starting pouring down the front of the house. It turned out that it WASN'T because of anything they had done: it was a roofing issue which just picked a bad time to start. But Mike didn't stop trying to figure out exactly what the problem was (it seemed inexplicable to everyone) until he was sure he had it figured out and was able to explain it to us. This process took several visits and a number of experiments, but allowed us to go back to the company that installed the new roof five years ago and explain to them the exact issue, which they (Godfrey) then promptly and very satisfactorily dealt with, under warranty, also without fuss. It was a good experience all around, the kind that restores your faith in human nature. Mike was cheerful, patient and pleasant throughout, a consummate professional. Thank you Mike and Adam!

Gutter and Downspout Installation

Bronson Johnson replaced our gutters and downspouts at our Nepean home in the spring of 2020. We had some instances of water coming into our basement, so new gutters was a good first step. I had many questions from the outset of the project and Fabien, the owner, patiently answered all of them. The work went smoothly, and the team cleaned up all debris before leaving. We've had the new gutters for a few months now and it is a noticeable improvement. The new system, with larger 3"x3" downspouts, can handle a lot more water than the old ones. Recently we noticed that one strap on an upper downspout was missing (something that was simply missed during the install). We emailed Bronson Johnson and they stopped by to fix it promptly. Can't complain. I would recommend them.

Lindsey & Dylan,
Thank you for highlighting our patience, that the work went smoothly, we returned promptly for a fix and that we cleaned up before leaving your home. Our apologies for forgetting that one strap and I appreciate your understanding that sometimes things just happen.
All the best.

Professional and quick

They were scheduled to do our gutters on Nov 10, 2020 - they showed up on the 9th ahead of schedule and were out in 4 hours. Beautiful eavestroughs. It was like having a few friends over. Funny ,easy to talk to, professional - offered suggestions for future service as we had some roof issues but no pressure (drip edge suggested). They were open to paying in any way we were comfortable. Highly recommended and we won't hesitate using them in the future or referring them to anyone who asks. We had eavestroughs with leaf cover installed. Some quotes were ridiculous with prices always changing and unprofessional. Trust Bronson/Johnson.

A company that does good work once is good, but a company that will come take a look at issues on a frigid Saturday morning is great. I would recommend Mike and his crew without reservation.

Perfect Timing! Exceptional Service!

I've received compliments and I've shared their business card already! You shouldn't hesitate either! The eavestroughs have been getting a workout with all this Fall rain...I know everyone loves the Leaf Protection but I really love the eavestrough hinge. Thanks so much BJ Crew!

Wendy,
Thank you for the review (not sure why you are listed as Scarborough). I would much rather your Eavestroughs were not getting such a workout but it is the fall season. It's great you are getting compliments and shared our business card. Also, thank you for your hospitality.
Best regards
